  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Opinions on KYB Tuners

I've been riding my 12' TXC 310 with the stock stuff and it has been very impressive but as I get more comfortable on the bike, I feel it could be better in a few aspects. What are you guys experiences with tuners on the KYB stuff? I used Factory Connection on my KTM 200 and after some dialing in, it was awesome. I've used a local TX guy but he specializes in WP, don't think he's ever even ridden a Husky before.

I'm thinking GDR, LTR, WER, or Zip-Ty. Most likely GDR, but I'm open to suggestions as I'm new to the Husky world.

Dave at TBT in Washington rules at KYB stuff. I have ridden several of his bikes and a friends who has 4 bikes revavled by him and they all rule. I had him do my Sachs of my 04 CR125, yep rules. Going to have him do my 511 stuff soon. He is also a top local racer, very fast and works at JD jetting as well. Very much in the know.

LTR and House of HP are also favorites of mine. Hear great things about Zipty as well. Lots of options.

When I get mine done it will be by Factory Connection. They know suspension, all suspensions, very well. Everyone I know uses them and I used them some on my yz250. Here's what they quoted me.
Revalve front $189.95
Fluids front $26.95
Fork springs $114.95
Pressure springs $41.95
2 Lock nuts $6

Shock revalve $189.95
Shock fluids/nitro $17.95
Shock spring $114.95
Comp piston plate $19.95
High speed spring $19.95
Shaft nut $9

Total $751.55

We have updated our pricing located here: Ziptyracing Services. I'm sure you will find them very reasonable. When we were the Husqvarna factory racing team last year, we serviced our own suspension. There is no assembly line system here. Each set of shocks are serviced by Ty Davis himself and often fitted with custom cut components from our machine shop to specifically fit each shock.

Hi Tinken, ya got me thinking. What do you think the turnaround time would be shipped from Florida? And would you have a ballpark on shipping & do ya have a preference?

Dave G of Smart Performance transformed my other bike a couple months ago ! He has his own suspension fluid and valve... This guy goes the extra mile for his clients and I will never look any further ! He took my 04 450r from being a off tracking , deflecting , harsh riding, feel everything in the grips and pegs , make you want to get ride of it POS ride , wear your ass out bike to a bike that seems to do everything really good ! It now goes strait over ruts and rocks , not just little rocks but cross-cross small boulders it sucks it up and goes straight. Huge jumps it doesn't bottom but seems to use all the travel. Big whoops it stays right on top and never does anything funny. Hard braking bumps and no diving . It's a cadilac sompared to my TE 511 but handles the hard hits and rocks like your rolling a well groomed mx track... This guy is no joke and isn't scared to make you happy. I wasn't happy the first time he sent my boingers back to me so he arranged to pick them up and go round two. When I got them back again he knocked it out of the park for me ! Said he did some interesting things to my stuff to make me happy :) he works on all brands of components and is a genius ... Go 200 hrs between suspension services ... This guys the man !

Halls in Illinois did mine a week ago. They did a fine job and the price was reasonable, plus they were nice,
Even though I am not used to that...LOL. I have heard a lot of good things about zipty and not from Tinken either...haha

We usually have a three day turn around plus shipping. Danny is in the shipping department, would be best to call and ask him or Ty. I would ship it to us in a gun case with some old jeans.

@ James, Thanks. Ty Davis's reputation speaks for himself and definitely doesn't require my help. Although, my suspension is fantastic on my 511, G-outs at 60+mph, no problem, my suspension doesn't even flinch. ;)
