  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Local dealer has a new one(the full 50 state legal ds version) for 7500 otd. I already have a wr300 for tight single track but wanted to have a ds / light adventure bike thats still decent in trails from time to time. I have rode 2011 450 and loved the thing so...sell me on it-lol

Price is too high....
Otherwise its a very dirt oriented street legal bike with just a nice bit more grunt than the 449, or with a few easy mods it can be OMG fast.

You will not like the close ratio gear box for street riding, or at least you might want to change the gearing. The fuel range is low, and you'll need a new seat, oil breather mod, exhaust mods, maybe tires. You'll quickly add another $1000 to the price, IMHO.
PS, I love my bike!

What has happened is that there are now only a handful of 511s in the US for sale and Husky's incentives on them are minimal so most dealers wont give one away....

You will have to shop hard for a cheap one, or gamble on waiting....or pick up a used one.

I got OTD for $6500 just two months ago. Called 7 dealers before i found one though. Close ratio gear box is NOT very street friendly, i've found. Still haven't had mine out in the singletrack yet, but i'm highly anticipating how much fun it will be!

Got mine for 6000 last month. Only two in state of Missouri so its getting tough to find. Might make prices go up as rarity is heightened?
