• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Opinions about UFO Replacement Plastics?

I'm considering trying the UFO replacements for my upper(red) tank shrouds for my 2008 TE250 because mine have lost some battles with the south jersey tight woods. Anyone have an opinion of them(quality, color, etc) or suggestions for other replacements? I posted to the classifieds looking for one you IMS owners that might want to part with yours:D

You can't beat it. I wish I had the money back when I purchased O.E.M. ones. They also sell a complete kit with fenders and all. Fit, Finish, and color are all excellent in my opinion.

They can be ordered out of the Parts Unlimited or Tucker Rocky Catalog, not sure which. So If you have a good local dealer that offers you a discount and sells say Honda, they can get it for you. Yes they have plastic to fit '07 and '08 plastic. Not sure about '09 yet though. Decals you have to either by someones graphics kit or O.E.M.

When I tried the UFO tank shrouds on my '07 TE they didn't fit well at all. I had to drill/shift the holes to get them to work. Not that I cared because I use them as my race plastic and cut them back so they wouldn't get torn off or broken as quickly. Held up for 3 mos so far which is a record for me.

I've read a lot of negative stuff about CEMOTO but I don't have first hand experience and of course YMMV.

I did get the UFO stuff today and it looks pretty good! Have to find some graphics though.

The OEM plastics are made by Cemoto

The Cemoto rear fender is different, when you slide your fingers under the lift space under seat and thru side number plates, you can't get your finger in there.
I now have place my hands elsewhere.

Will be bad when I get rear end stuck.

Thanx!

this is all good info, but how are the new plastics lasting? im getting frustrated with breaking stock plastic.

I've been considering getting one of these...

I know a few folks with them and they love them. You can even have your name embroidered in them :) I like the one that goes over the seat rather than the fender.

I broke my side panel when my bike was brand new thinking the little holes in the side covers were handles. The plastic doesn't line up with the frame rail and the plastic broke

I bought a tugger a little over a year ago and just now got around to installing it. I have HUSQ-NIRVARNA embroidered in white on it. I'll take a pic tonight.
