• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Old School

What year was that Bultaco???

That was a 1975 250 Pursang. The photo was shot during a grand prix, which is why there is a gas tank from my 1975 360 Frontera on it, so I wouldn't have to make a pit stop for gasoline.

Well that answers the next ? I had on why you had a Frontera tank on a 250... My Dad use to race the Bultaco bikes in the 70's. He had a Pursang 250, 2-Alpina 250's and the Frontera 360. Still got the Alpina's and the Frontera, but they haven't been ridden in probably 20 years. Been trying to talk my dad out of them so I can restore them, but he wont part with them just yet. I'll probably just end up taking them out of the barn when he's not around, I hate just seeing them sit there.....

Yeah, I wish I had never gotten rid of the DKW, the Maico and the Frontera. I am afraid that they would be doing a lot of sitting around, but they would be doing it in very good condition.

I can't believe the amount of time I spend on here and I missed this one...
Very cool.
Love them all. Sure bring back good memories.

Rummaged around and found another old Bultaco shot; this one is a 1975 125 Pursang at The Mesa in Encinitas, Ca.

Ah, to be young again. It's like being rich.:p

Have I said this before? Youth is wasted on the young.:D

DD,
? did you buy that beauty from the famous Tim D. Bultaco (or the former owner, Emde) shop?

I bought my 125 from Mr. Daley at Alba Bultaco (and Hodaka) in Chula Vista. The other Bultacos I have owned came from Unicorn Bultaco in Vista.

Hey, I'm certainly not stoppin' other people from posting photos of actual famous riders in history here. I may not be famous or accomplished, but I am historic, at least.

Sweet old school photos. Mimi, you are my hero. That totally rocks. I need to keep track of all the photos I take of my kids, especially my daughter. Gals and dirt bikes are just plain awesome.

we (Mr D:thumbsup:) ride together almost every weekend,,,we are notorious (infamous) among the LAs and BNs and other fine off-road groups, he still rips (now on his Kato300EXC)....but don't tell him that, his ego is unfaltering whether surfing or riding**************************************** R

Great photos of which I recognize. Mostly SoCal deserts. Some of those areas are long gone but others are still there and frequent often.

Who would have ever thought those big heavy 4-strokers would have been able to go in the sand! I guess they had so much torque that they could pull though anything  What do you think those Triumphs would weight? 400lbs?

Did you notice all pics where the heads were removed from the engines?

And we think we know how to ride? lol ... Thanks to all that have ridden before me to open up the roads and trails!

As we call them in the Northwest, the Pomeroy Pursang. I also had a 1975 250, which was a wonderful MX bike, until the crank spun in half mid moto one weekend. Took most of the racing season to get another crank....and then I went back to racing Suzuki's. The RM 370 was a beast, but easy to keep running.

What a ride: DeCoster, Weinert, Jim Hart, Pomeroy, Lackey, Tripes, Distefano, Adolf Weil, Gerritt Wolsink ect.

At: Sears Point, Carnege Cycle Park, Willow Glen, McGills (sac), Old Hangtown ect.
Was a young kid watching my heroes...
