• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

OK, Whose is going ? Looks like I am on row 5A. BREAKING TRAIL !

Going back to Michigan in a couple weeks to ride a AHRMA 2 Day ISDT Qualifier. (Vintage) Last one I broke my hand. My Hodaka is just too fast ! LOL

I heard it is going to have a killer longer section than normal. I am still recovering from PA National so I'm out.

Actually, it will be a short enduro except for the A/AA section which is 11 miles. Most sections are 4-7 miles.

That sux. I spoke to Alan Randt about the short sections and he says it is the clubs doing. I don't get going until the section is over 8 miles long. I like 8 to 12 mile sections. I don't like 20 mile tests but I do well in them. I think more riders should express their dislike for short sections. This is supposed to be an Enduro not a sprint race.

Well, I had issues in the last section. 2 major hill climbs in the Pro / AA/ A section. My bike would loose power if I rolled off at all. I made a major fool of myself at the spectator hill. I stalled 3 times and 3 times I rolled all the way down the hill. Not the bike but ME ! Anyone got a video ? It will be on MAVTV but I don't get it.

I was there. Fun ride. Very short course. Would have been brutal if it rained though.

I saw you Dwight by the Porta Can. It just didnt feel like the right place to do a formal introduction...

Could have been as easy as "Hey Dwight...are you in line here?"

Dwight. I feel bad to tell you this but I just watched the video and my 13yr old daughter was watching as well. She thought your tumble down the hill was pretty funny.

She should have seen the other 2 tumbles not counting the one just before the finish check where there were no spectators. I am black and blue all over. BTW I was having some issues already with my back and leg strength. I had Doctors appointment on Monday and got MRI done Tuesday. Hope to figure out why I am having issues. Tough getting Old. BTW, today is my B'day. SHUTUP ! LOL :oldman:

happy late birfday!!

Yikes! Those hills looked like serious trouble for folks like me. The first few folks through that first hill made it look pretty do-able if you kept your momentum up, but once the later riders started piling up, I'm sure I would have gone down in defeat.

DR,
your machine no rpm/low rpm did you find the culprit(jetting, plug.ignition, fuel)? That hill was long and steep your Husky's rpm was way low off the start with no momentum. Dang that sucked, glad you are good to go for the next one. Keep that "old guy" flag flying!!! the race itself looked epic, low dust, good traction, heat index?? (was hot right?). tire choice looked important to get good drive on those loose dirt hill chutes. Great video showcased the ugly stuff, remember all, the cam completely flattens those hills. RN
