  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc OH NO, NOT ANOTHER 2-STROKE OIL THREAD!

Hello every-one I don't want to start another pre-mix war as that has been beat to death already several times. I am looking for opinions on using amsoil interceptor. I am using motul 710 2t at 32:1 now with good results in my wr144 and a friend has given me some amsoil interceptor. I know it says to mix it at 50:1 but I have my bike jetted properly for 32:1 and I am thinking of trying it at that ratio.Any-body tried it at that ratio? Opinions on this oil? Opinions on this oil only please as I am sure we have all read threads that are pages long about all the other oils out there! Thanks in advance,!

I use a mix of 50:50 InterceptorDominator.Just pulled my top end down Friday night after 65 hours since a new ring and well over 100 since the initial piston kit. No carbon build up and power valves were well lubed and clean. Wonderful film of oil coating all the inner parts of the cylinder/piston. Ring gap had enlarged .003" in 65 hours. Still well within specs and had no sharp edges, I replaced it anyway. Piston clearance was at .002" and will stay in there for at least another 100 hours. I mix at 44:1. The cylinder looked like it had maybe 5 hours on it....Perfect. I use interceptor exclusively in my 360 but like the slightly better scuff resistance of Dominator too. I know I am a bit anal for replacing a perfectly good ring.

I run my Maxima K2 at 40:1 with great results. If I had a 125 that I raced MX on then I might use it at 32 or 36:1. My bikes are 144cc & 165cc.

I run the Dominator and have run Interceptor too. I run 44-1 (3oz per gallon). I LOVE this stuff. Tried many 2 stroke oils over the years and just settled on Amsoil because i think it works great. Pulled many abused motors apart with it and was amazed how well it worked. I do not know what the difference between the Dominator and Interceptor but like the Dominator because it is red and the other i gold and hard to see if you have some in the gas. As i have 4 stroke too I need to know quickly what is mixed and what is not. Amsoil is VERY good stuff in my book. You can also talk any local autoparts store that sells Amsoil to carry it, i did it and can get it last minute right down the street.
