  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

odd oil change

baybueller

Husqvarna
B Class
Second change on 13 te 511. Did filter and screens just like before, short run and check. No oil in glass at level. motor is hot. blue fluid spitting on valve cover. Ran around block to cool water and heat oil. Still no oil when held level and more spit on cover.
Could it be pumping oil to the valves with no return? My first Husky and I am a bit lost here.

How much oil did you put in it? Is your coolant blue, or is it air filter oil. If the engine is cold, with it on the side stand
It should be half way up the site glass. When it's hot, more. With it on the side stand, and cold, take filler plug
Out, you should see the oil at the bottom of the threads. I have changed it and it's so clean it is hard to see in
The sight glass.

I put 1 quart in. the fluid is turquoise color and came from a fixed tube going to the intake area. A second run brought the oil up a bit, need to add some. My concern was I was pushing oil thru the vent and forcing filter oil out.
I know just enough to be dangerous.

It's coming up the through the stock vent, into the air filter and then out of the air box and onto your engine.

Oil filter in backwards?

Its kind of hard to put that filter in backwards, but worth a check perhaps. The hole with grommet goes onto a nipple inside the case to ensure proper flow. The metal end cap should face out.
