• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

NW Fall Gathering?

I feel bad for the people that went to bed early and/or camped at the Best Western...They missed out on some epic midnight minibike racing around the campfire.

Hey... I resemble that remark! 'sides- we "camped" at the Cascade Lodge Staging Area (cheap, great rooms- 2 thumbs up).

After the "raffle" (Bill, Bryon & Jon giving away tons of swag; ...thanks guys!) it was starting to really rain (ok, it was more of slight drizzle- throw me a bone here). I noticed that Brian was adding a log to harden the lip of the jump... and the first xr100 over it endo'ed towards my direction. I happened to be holding Bryon's b-day Fireball and almost spilled it in my haste to get clear of the flying debris; so I retreated a bit. And knowing that crowd, things could've got ugly if I had spilled any. I immediately went back to drinking plain bourbon.

Just about then my son reminded me that Oregon has these DUI laws or some such- who knew? Seeing how the 30' bonfire had died down to a nice campfire, Lynyrd Skynyrd morphed into Johnny Cash, and there were people who were snoring next to the fire while embers glowed orange on their jackets- with the soles of their boots slowly melting... it seemed like the right time to make our escape, er- uh, I mean leave.

Hell, it was midnight- and I planned to be up at the crack of noon, too.

Anyhooo- I had a great time and some great riding. Thanks to all that helped put this on (BMP crew especially). Next year I'm getting there Thursday night though- seems like I heard that I missed some of the fun.

[most of the above is guaranteed true. mostly]

The Almost-Over-The-Hill Gang rides again!
The guys came from all over to ride the perfect conditions at East Fort Rock / China Hat. Really great riders and a blast to ride with.

Jon (Whitefish, MT), Kevin (Boise), Walt (Whitefish, MT), yours truly, and Chris (Moab).

Great to see Jon again and finally meet Walt. Nice to have Kevin make it too.
Hope to ride with everyone next year. And as always, thanks to Bill, Bryon, and Jon for all the Husqvarna and Gas Gas coolness.

not being a huge Facebook aficionado, I not sure what the problem is... but I can't see any vids.

??

ps- did I miss the "husky" grilled cheese sandwiches this year, or was that a one-time deal?

Well...I guess you have to be signed into facebook to see the video. I didn't even think about that :/

I made Husky burgers one afternoon...
