    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Nomad add on tanks... We have them

As many of you know i have been running a Nomad add on fuel tank on my TE511 after seeing a few posts here. I contacted the dude that runs the company to give them a test. I have to say the one for my TE511 has worked out GREAT. Very solid build, nice mounting stuff and complete. the tank is low profile and drains into the main tank so no need to take off and dump. Give me about 110 miles on my TE511 in DS mode.

So as i was pretty darn happy with the test stuff he sent me a pile of tanks.

I have test fitted the other husky and KTM ones this weekend and they look like they fit great too. I admittedly have not tried them mounted and working but it is not rocket science, if it mounts up right would work great.

These are built in Australia by what seems like a real cool guy. He has been real EZ to work with and even sent spare parts for replacements like the bungees and connectors so us USA guys don't have to wait fro replacement parts if ever needed.

As mounted on my TE511 and used for the last 300 miles. Works perfect, never drips gas or smells of gas. Low profile. Give me almost 30 miles extra range.

Shown here on a 2011 TE310 so it should work on everything from a 125 to all the x-lights no issues. Should fit WR250/300 (will test fit soon) and 610/630's too. Fits very nice and holds a gallon.

Comes with two mounting options (bungees or bolt on), a fuel valve all the hoses, a nice brass Tee. Very complete and high quality.

Like i said, zero issues with mine, i love it, it is low and does not interfere and drains first so the high weight is gone first. Good stuff.

BTW these come on and off the bike in seconds so you have the quick and EZ option of running it only when you need to. The one on my TE511 is so low and out of the way i think i am just going to leave it on.

So with a front tank, you just unstrap the nomad and dump it in?

Curious about the weight on the subframe.

No it tees into the fuel line with included hardware and petcocks and drains itself. On an EFI bike there is almost always a low / no pressure crossover line. The 2011 TE310 we looked at would be simple to add it onto. Kit includes a petcock and a tee so you can take the tank off and leave the attachment point for when you toss it back on. The tank probably weighs a pound or so and a gallon of gas is 6 pounds. No different then a person that weighs 6 pounds more, not going to matter.
 
There's a crossover on the 630. I just thought the distance between tanks made it prohibitive. I suppose a fuel line would be easy enough to tuck in there somewhere.
 
I forgot to mention there is a tank with a flat bottom and integrated nutserts in the tank for bolting to a flat rack. I think it is 1.5 gallon. will have detailed pix and dimensions of each tank option soon.
 
So here are the details for the tanks that might be of interest on this site.

First up 449/511 full retail is $180 .8 gallon

Great tank, got hundreds of miles on it, zero issues, super EZ to mount, built tough, low profile, no gas leaks or smell. Fantastic for my needs. Like all of them EZ to remove or replace quickly.

Next up is a tank that should easily fit all the x-lights, the 2 stroke 125/150/250/300 and the 610/630. On EFI bikes the supplied fitting tees into the low pressure crossover line. Includes everything needed. Permenant bolt on mounting or quick release bungee mounting. $195 retail 1.1 gallons

Damn, the way my bike burns fuel, I might have to do something like this. I know your getting tired of filling up gatorade bottles mid ride to get me back to the truck Kelly.....

I had a No.1 on my old XR650R.
It hung down low on the right (no muffler) side, so it won't fit my 630.
The No.3 looks like the go, once the strength of the sub-frame is sorted out.

One plus that wasn't mentioned was t was slightly higher than the seat, giving a little lip to sit in on those loonnng wheelies.
 
I'm interested in the Nomad Tank or my 2012 TE511 but can't find any info on your web page. Are the still available?
