• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Nobody said it was easy !!!

Just thought I would share with you a typical day at the office! We were low on 40mm Exhaust frame clamps, so, before we ran out we drew up the part as a flat piece of sheet for Laser cutting, got them made, folded the ends, re-formed the ends, made a circular bending tool and knocked out a batch ready for Zinc Plating...View attachment 39288P1010218.JPGP1010210.JPGP1010214.JPG

Just letting you know there is a re-emergence of appreciation for artisan work like you guys are doing. Keep up the good work your skill and efforts are exemplary.

really wish there wasnt the country barrier. the pound/dollar thing and shipping is brutal for the US guys..
otherwise i would be ordering a lot of stuff..your work looks great and its nice to see the huskies supported

absolutely, in the us we have everything like that easier...for sure. theres just so much stuff on andys site that is super expensive by the time it gets to me...maybe im just spoiled! i will still ordering some stuff, because what he is doing is good for the swedes!

Love your work Andy!
I must be getting old?
My thinking these days is that I'm willing to pay for quality and for service. I really appreciate firstly that I can buy parts to suit my 30 year old bikes and that Andy puts in the effort to manufacture parts as well source parts and run a web business so that its easy for me. My experience has always been first rate with HVA, parts are in stock, are top quality and get shipped very quickly, it's amazing that I can receive parts in 3 or 4 days of placing my order! Yes the exchange rate sucks and the freight charge is high but wow what service!

Thanks Andy

Great work Andy, as the others have said it's great to know that there are people out there with the skills and passion to keep these bikes alive. The passion really comes across when talking to you and I really appreciate the fact that you're always happy to give advice to us husky newbies :)
Cheers

Andy

couldnt resist any longer so i placed an order...looking forward to getting some cool stuff! thanks andy for helping these stay alive!
