  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I read these threads and really feel for you guys that have issues with your bikes. However, let me give you my feelings about my 09 TE310. I have put 9,300 miles on this bike and have done NOTHING to the engine, except a couple valve adjustments. One radiator fan failure and that's it, other than normal replacement wear items. Recently a friend did a little tuning on it and richened up the bottom end and I like it even more. I can hardly stall this bike unless I mash on the rear brake. I, for one, am a very happy Husky owner.

Let's see... I sometimes have trouble remembering how many Huskies I've owned since 2007. 08 TE 250, 09 WR 300, 09 TXC 250, 09 CR 125, 10 TXC 250, 10 TC 250, 11 TE 449, 11 CR 150, 12 CR 150, 12 TC 250. I think that's it. Aside from a few minor issues that were easily dealt with on one or two of the bikes, My fleet of Husqvarnas has been more reliable than my KTM's, and the few Jap dirt bikes I've owned.

the very last dirt bike of my youth was a wr250 Husky.
flash forward twenty five years and wham oh. 2011 TE449 so far so good, no problems just a bunch of riding.

1000 miles of trouble free smiles. WELL 964 to be exact. Starting to wonder if I should grab a feeler guage and check the valves soon. But the motor runs so good and pulls so strong, maybe I'll wait a day or two more of riding. :p

It is good to remind us that there are lots of bikes with no problems at all. It is also good to have a place to come to and find a solution to a problem. It is even better to find something I didn't know existed and now I gotta have it!
2011 TE 449 no problems, just the best bike I have ever owned or ridden. My son's bike, 2011 TE 250, lost a fuel pump with about 200 miles, covered under warranty at Malcom Smith Motorsports.

Sound good all the story's,I like reading them, having a great run out of the te250meo so far. Get a bit worried when read some comments about the little 250 fours about how high manterance they are.But they are so fun to ride,it is like sitting in a lounge chair with great suspension.Ride on and have fun husky riders.

The new xlite engine bike are fun to ride for sure ... Not sure it will last the 950hrs my 08 TXC250 lasted before it needed engine work ... Anything > 250 hr before any major engine work on the 010 TC250 and I'll be OK with the hr count ...

My 02 CR250 never really gave any issues other than what I caused crashing it ... Just keep new bearings in the linkage was about the biggest issue ...

Wow 9300 miles that is awesome. I have the same bike 09 TE310 it only has 1400km on it so far but no problems either. I just had the suspension re-sprung and revalved to suit my weight and now it is better than ever before. I also removed the spark arrestor, that improved performance also.

I think the best thing I did was re-spring. That is what makes this the best bike I have ever owned.

I really hate it how lots of people who have never riden a husky say they are crap, but they are actually pretty AWESOME************************************************************************************************************************!
