• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

No More Suzuki Bandits???

What was it PT Barnum said?
"There's a sucker born every minute" I'm glad there's people out there with the money to commission a five figure custom bike build. It's a shame they put about 100 miles in them on average. Then again, it's easy to roll out of a Harley dealer $30,000 lighter.

These baby boomers are parting with there cash?

I been eyeing two new bikes but nothing that's big dollars. I been thinking a nice new car too.(mustang). I'll wear the tires out on everything for sure.

On my last 1200 bandit intwo years I had 25k on it. I rode I didn't park at dunkin donuts sitting there admiring my bike. I want to ride. I'll rest when I take a dirt nap.

At the same time I put 12k on the dual sport, 2k on the quad and another 2.5k on the dirt bike. I was never home. That's not counting the old husqvarna.

I don't think a big vee twin could handle the mileage?

Bill, it all depends on who builds it and how its taken care of. I have a customer in his 70"s with 119K on a 2009 FLHTP (POLICE Model ) Harley.

plenty of guys with zrx bikes over 50k up to 100k...many 4 cylinder bikes will do it...harley will get up there too

Yep, even looks like a Bandit. It's like they read this thread and brought it back for ya Bill.

I loved my '99 1200 bandit. She did 155mph one day. The bike was so smooth it should be against the law. 2016 sounds like a new one. I should feel better by then.

I'll look to the California bandit guy for mods.

It's an awesome ride now with fuel injection and 1255cc. Maybe a yoshomura exhaust system and I'm good. The old 1100 gisxer design still lives.

End of July in show rooms.

im surprised you like the bandit so much with it being a single shock? if i remember you say single has a lot more flex than dual shock?
its good to see them continue the bandit line.

The bandit swing arm is a rugged design with no flex it's rock solid. I did change the rear spring in my '99. I think I went stronger on the fork springs. I'm jones'n to throw a leg over the seat on the bandit again.

It's also LC now too.

I had a 2003 Bandit 1200 and now my son owns it. They are a great do-it-all for a good price. Dale Walker's Holeshot Performance provides some good mods for them. http://www.holeshot.com/ I ordered a slip-on, jet kit, and corbin seat from them.
