  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

NO BMW map, or alternative solutions in the UK

There should be a way for a regular person to do this. Is the 1% and 3% really just a voltage measurement? If we can measure the voltage, and then move the TPS, can we accomplish the same thing. I think so. Any chance you can tell us what voltage your tps gives at idle now?
This is basically what I've done, but by ear. Tiny little movements bring big changes.
If you got too far at idle, the engine cuts & you move back & start again. I have mine idling smooth & stable with no stalls/ flameouts.
No very scientific, but effective at home.

I've been trying to get blank plugs for making up a test lead breakout set. They all want to sell me a couple of hundred minimum...... :(

Ya, I think I'll just experiment. I can read the voltage too, so that might help. Mine is just a little harder to start than I would like and I've seen other TE's start right up in half a turn like they should.

Let me look tomorrow and see what voltage it is at. 3% is just a reading for the calibration tool ex- 0% fully closed 100% WOT

Yes, would also love to see some other people's TPS idle voltages if you could post them up.
9880sts has a problem right off idle, but his lowest voltage is 1.55v..... Seems too high to me.

There is actually 2014 maps available, but I haven't had time to look at them. So far, VIN numbers under 100 in the last three digits have been mappable, where as over 100 have been ecu locked. Ecu's that are locked cannot be modified and there for the solution would be the powercommander5.

The Full Akro map is the BMW map #3. BMW produced 3 maps; Stock, A mid map and lastly the Full Akro map. Technically they produced 4 because there is an upgrade from 2011 ecu's to 2012 and there is a difference between the full akro for 2011 and the full akro for 2012 which is more powerful and is what I have been loading onto the 2011 ecu's that are not locked.

There are also 3 maps available for the 2013 310r's, I have remapped two of these today. Map #1 on these models is down right horrifying. Not sure if power up plugs are available for these at this point in time.

I apologize for the confusion, it was just easier to call them map set 1, 2 and 3 in an attempt to avoid such confusion.

Tinken, this is an old post, but do you have new maps available for the TE499 (2011)? i have uploaded a map via tuneecu, but am not sure if it is the latest one.
Please let me know! Thanks!

Tinken is no longer visiting the forum.

The TuneEcu maps were shared with the TuneEcu developer Meouw by Norman and myself.
The maps were from the latest version of the HST software circa 2013.

I'm not sure Zipty had this version as Tinken always stated they weren't able to upload files to the 2011 model bikes.
I was able to upload to first my own, and then a friends 2011 model bikes using the HST.

You should have the latest map for the bike there.
Obviously, you can still retune parts of the ignition and timing maps as required with the TuneEcu program.
Be sure to always save your current map prior to modifications.
