FE/FC No 4cs forks for the 14's??

Just read through the latest mxa with the review of the fc450. They said the forks were just as bad as the ktm's and made no mention of the 4cs forks. Maybe I missed something but I thought I heard multiple times that all 2014 blue huskys were gonna come with 4cs?

They're all 4cs as far as I know. Even the 4cs bikes getting bad reviews. For whatever reason that's what KTM can't get right. Doesn't really mean much to someone like me, I suck anyway. It definitely isn't a brand new bikes suspension holding me back lol. From what I've read on a Orange forum, they like them. But that's offroad riders, no clue how it's working on MX models.

Someone posted a TDM mag review and they kinda hated the suspension too. They were nice about it but was pretty obvious they were not wild over the suspension.

My local suspension tuner has not been able to get them right for my friend Don's erzberg bike. They have tried 3 or 4 different setups and they are still harsh. They also sent the suspension to factory connection, it still is not as good as my revalved 13 CR144.

My friend has been using the old style forks from the 300 to race on, he has a 300, 350 and a 450. One of them came with the old forks...

I think the 4cs reviews are relative . I rode the 14 berg version and thought they where the best stock fork I have tried. I don't think they are Mx forks and wouldn't have tuners specializing in Mx tune them . That's why the mx version bikes have the CC forks

I still believe the simple open chamber forks are hard to beat for off road. A set of KYB or zoke open chambers setup for you are EZ and versatile and work great.

I would really have to say yes its all about set up and personal desire for set up like all modern suspension. From clickers to spring rates to valve stacks to oil qty/type (heights).

I love the 4CS front forks, and I understand that not everyone can set them up. These are really good forks. Ty says that they are a little harder to set up, but we can and have been setting them up with no problems. If you are having problems with your forks, send them our way and we will get them tuned to your specs.

true but some forks are way harder to setup and get to be versatile where others are simple.

so from what I can tell it looks like only the offroad models get the 4cs forks this year. TE and FE models.

Only the enduro models, correct. Also the KTM 6 days model gets them.

I am sure they are great forks when set up correctly.

My suspension guy said they are the easiest forks he has ever worked on as far as basic servicing goes.

Gotta agree with Kelly, for play riding in the woods nothing beats a well set up OC fork. I just bought a '14 KTM 300XCW and it has the best out of the crate suspension of any bike I've ever had. Don't think I'm gonna revalve either end if the first 300 miles are a good indication.

My most common riding partner bought a '14 300 Six Days at the same time, so he has the 4CS fork. It's incredible, but KTM set it up very differently than they did on the XC's.

Also, I'd never recommend that a KTM, Husky, Beta, Gas Gas, etc., rider go to one of the "corporate" suspension tuners. If you're a moto guy on a CRF450 then go anywhere you want, cuz that's what they know. Nope, we have to DIY (as I like to do) or go with a guy who specializes in these Euro scooters: Kreft Moto, LTR, Bruce's, Dick's Racing, etc.

We designed/patent a new anodized fitting for the 4CS forks that allows us to drop in 48mm Marzocchi Shiver cartridges into the OEM casings. This gives you top of the line front forks without the head ache of matching axles/calipers and for much less $$. It may even allow KYB cartridges.

Example of above statement-
ZipTy Racing fixed my 2011 TE310 Sachs Shock that blew its seal/oil out at a 2 day enduro on the first special test of day 2. After sending it to Ty I was informed that there was a slight assembly issue from the "corporate" company that had previously built up the shock for the previous owner. Never had another issue with the shock under extreme conditions I put it through after it was Zip Tyd.

Stopped in one of the local dealers and was surprised to see a good bunch of these hanging out. All had the 4ST forks from what I could see. Hey Kelly, they have a TC449 with 2 hours on it for sale just calling your name! You can see it in the second picture.
