Well, today was supposed to be a group ride with some other guys, but it kinda fell apart due to the weather. Some of them decided to trailer their bikes to an OHV area and do some riding, and others decided to just opt out. This is the ride of the two who, did something different all together.
Not a whole lot of pics on this voyage, but I will sum it up as this: It rained, it rained some more and it kinda stopped and then it rained some more. Perfect!!! Time to get dirty.
Since it was going to be just me and my wife, I decided to let her decide the type and route of this ride. If you guys spend any time with your significant other riding or doing something for her, sometimes even though it's her ride, you have to man up and take the bike by the bars and do all of the decision making and hope you choose wisely
By the kiss of approval at the end of the ride, I will say that I think I choose wisely.
That being said, here we go:
Here is what the day looked like all day long.
I decided to take her on a new route to her and show her some new terrain and sights. We rode a few miles south and west to the point where we were along side a nature preserve. I think they were trying to preserve a barren hillside
A few miles down the muddy trails and multiple creek crossings that were full by the way, we came back into the trees and rocks. I wish I would have taken more pics, but I was more focused on the needle like raindrops hitting the chubb of the cheeks.
So by now, we had covered about 50 miles, and it was time for a lunch break. So subway it was. No pics of the food but one of the bikes. I wish I would have taken a picture of the people who thought we were out of our minds. The nice thing about riding in the rain, is that all of the dirt gets washed off when you get to speed.
This was the part of the ride when it did not rain:
After eating some grindage, off we went. Did some asphalt and some twisties and took a break near a popular mountain bike spot.
I don't think she got cold or wet as she was all bundled up with 3 pairs of paints, riding shirt, thermals, riding jacket, crash pads, chest protector and then another jacket to keep it all together
She is the smart one with a full face shield.
All in all, a great day!! I am glad we decided to take the day and get out. Covered about 90 miles and had a great time..
See ya on the next one.
