  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys new to the site and new to husky bikes. I picked up a 2001 cr 250 which I will be using for woods riding. It has 18" rear tire, skid plate, pipe guard, hand guards, acerbis fuel tank. Think i got most of the woods stuff covered.

So been reading some threads about the bike and see a lot about the carb. Mine has the stock carb so will be looking for one of the ones everyone is using. Any help or info would be great

Thanks chris

The Lectron carb is a huge improvement! Keep the old carb so when you sell the bike you don't have to sell the Lectron with it!

Hi Chris and welcome. Good bike, where's the pic? Some folks get along with the stock carb well enough, especially @ sea level. More than you want to know is in the jetting sticky thread.
Some go Keihen PWK and others Lectron. Depends on how much you want to spend and whether you like the carb jetting dance. Keep searching and reading, you got some catchin' up to do.

Here is my cr 250. Was told it was a 2001 but not 100% sure lol.

A great bike! My little bro had one back in senior high/college years ago! Fantastic bike! I put a lectron 38 on my 300 (very similar motor) & it is fantastic! Starts EZ gets amazingly better mpg! Idles beautifully & smells good to! If you are riding a lot of creek & water crossings then make sure you silastic up the bottom airbox drain so you don't drown it on the first crossing!
