  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have an 08 Husky 610sm. I have roughly 12k on the clock. I ride from Tacoma to Seattle for work 80 (or so) miles round trip. My nuetral light has been giving me an error code (I think). Where would I look to find out what the error code is? It will blink four times then go solid green for a sec then blink four times again. I was in the carpool lane then got on the pipe to pass a couple cars and it cut out on me. I slowed down thinking WTF? Then took it easy for a bit to see if it was getting ready to break down but it was fine. I then got on the pipe two more times to see if it would cut out again and it did. Any suggestions? My apoplogies if I'm not in the right section of the forum. I'm not mechanically familiar with bikes although I've changed the oil on it and kept up on the minor items. Thanks for any advice!

It's telling you there is a current or historic fault stored in the ECU. To ascertain what the fault is/was you'll need to plug the bike into the Ibeat or HST system.

Hi Dave thanks for the response. Is the Ibeat or HST system something that you purchase and do yourself or is it something I need to consult a bike mechanic to have done?

John

You can purchase the ibeat set up from semco, look in the old sponsors on this site. Semcos price was reasonable and you will be able to future work as well. Semco is also in Idaho so he is not far away and has very good service.
