    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Hello to all CafeHusky's.

Lil about myself. Ive been riding bikes for about 8 years mostly street ( DR 350 SE, current street bike is a overworked HOLESHOT'ed out Bandit 1200 (love it) and have rode all in between big ones little ones 2 smokes and 4 tokes )

I grew up with wheelers and such and have owned my own equipment for 8 years

A lot of my friends ride dirt and i miss my old DR 350 so i needed to get something to blast around with them.

I wound up with a 05 Husqvarna TC 250 E start button :banana: very cheep as it would only run with the choke on but ran and shifted like butter


So I just acquired a 05 TC 250 as the title says and got her home pull the sub frame and other junk out of the way to get at the carb. Pull the carb and sure enough the pilot jet was plugged. But what i wasn't expecting was the hot start ( lever on bar MAGURA ) was rusted at the carb bore and was disconnected @ the 90* pivot and crudded up in place.


PS the closest Husky dealer is about 300 miles away from me in Central NY so ima need massive advice from the husky experts on this site.

A picture to boot... Not the purdy-est one on the block but good-enuf for the dirt farm.

Sudco USA has the parts i need ... just ordered a new plunger style hot start.

Welcome to the husky world. Sounds like you got your hot start trouble fixed. Just for future reference, there are a few very good dealers around the country who stock almost everything, or can get it very quickly. Halls cycles in Springfield IL, Bills in Salem OR, Motoxotica in Vacaville CA to name a few. Hope you enjoy your new stead.
 
Thanks for the info Colorado Moto. When i was looking for a hot start to replace my cable to bars Halls Husky came up a lot on the phone. good to have a few reference points.

I found Sudco for all my carb bits and needed a few good " husky " dealers for parts and what not.. BTW does anyone know where to get a owners manual for under 30$.

I paid 600$ for that bike as the P.Owner had no service record and the carb was gummed up...:lol:
 
Sorry to get the welcome wagon out late. You are definitely at the right pace, and not on your own. There are lots of really great people here that can help you get your new bike dialed in. You're gonna love that bike too. $600... jeez, what a deal.

The owners & shop manuals are on-line for free.
 
I'm new to the site too. I've had my 05 tc 250 for a year now and it's hands down the best bike I've ever owned. It goes from the track to rocky mountain enduro trails and doesn't miss a beat. I've done full day trail rides and never had any problems. I love it. I'll never buy another Honda, Suzuki, etc.
