  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC New to CafeHusky and new to Husky

Starting to like my simple clean look more! It looks pretty dang sharp and when I install my new fork graphics from my suspension guy that are yellow I think it will look awesome!
Rode at my mechanics/suspension guys moto compound this last weekend on the track and single track. The sphere kit really kills it on both! VET track all the way and not the gnarliest single track but damn it's awesome to do full laps on both tracks and be so stoked!
I am either crazy or the Grunt exhaust manifold really does add snap/low end. It could be the fresher tires but I swear it pulls better down low, more snappier and can pull wheelies from down low so much easier.. Could totally be a placebo effect as well.. Lol
Like the DCR intake cam purchase I am not sure why I thought the FLO Motorsports TI sproket bolts were needed but I purchased them for some bling. I thought the rainbow would be awesome!

I also purchased a DCR intake cam for some reason as well :) Worked wayyyyyy awesome on my 300SXF so we will see.
New renthal CR bend bars and ODI Emig V2 lock on grips since I couldn't get used to the stock Nekken bars will be installed tonight.
I also may go back to full wrap around barkbusters... Lots of friends are breaking fingers and have sticks going through there fingers.
Wish I would have found time to get the ECU to ToykoMods but it will happen when it/if snows in Aspen ;)

I'm loving the all white plastics.
I was thinking the dark blue would be cool all around but the white looks really good.
and all the other trick stuff doesnt hurt any either

Thank you my man! I have been a white bike guy for the last couple of years with my KTM and now Husky. The '17 blue fork guards were very close to be installed and may very well happen in the future!
The other bits installed were to help the white look for sure!

My white KTM!

Totally stoked on the pegs too! They are a work of art as well. A lot lighter than stock and even much lighter than the fastway EVO's I took off.

Finally decided on disk guards for the race season..
Acerbis X Brake for the front
For the rear disk guard I went with the best and 7602 racing!

Ran out of time to get the disk guards on but slapped the barkbusters on her for the ride today.
The 7602 racing rear disk is a very nice piece, great build quality, and is probably the same weight as the Acerbis plastic front disk guard. Very impressed for sure!

Not the biggest update by any means, I have actually worked every day since my last post so the disk guards have not even been installed. I got to pay for the fun some how.. lol
I purchased another Tusk lithium battery due to the fact that I think they sell a battery with not enough cold cranking amps for the 350, so I purchased the next bigger model with wayyyy more cold cranking amps. The wife got hooked up on her CRF150f with my old lithium battery, she also needs any weight loss possible on her bike so it was a win :)

I also usually run the Slaven's racing extreme linkage guard but decided to go another direction this time. Bullet Proof Designs linkage guard, its light weight and looks strong as heck. So we will see!

I also went another direction with my ECU reflash, Tokyo mods was great but found a company in Utah called ProvenMoto. They do there work @ over 4K asl so IMO this is better for a high country rider like me.

The Acerbis X brake disk guard was a total mess.. the disk guard bound up for some damn reason, the wheel wouldn't spin, reinstalled 10 times and no luck. Tried to remove the disk guard install kit and it pulled out the wheel bearing.. so bummed for sure..
