  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

After the snow is gone, I got my new babe yesterday and put some kilometers on the clock.

The dealer said there he put on a mapping for a LeoVince X3 which was just released from the factory. The X3 that I want to use is an old one with massive dents. Right now it is gonna be repaired and hoprefully I will get it next weekend. I was trying the bike with the stock muffler and the FIM DB killer. Well I must say, it runs great. Better than my 2011 with 12 hole injector , TXC CDI and full titanium X3 LeoVince pipe and muffler.

It makes a whole lot of fun!!! Gonna change oil now and will go out for a second ride. The fork is kind of stiff. I changed the compression setting to full open and one click back. Let see what's happening today.

Still waiting for the triple clamps from XTRIG plus their PHDS system for mounting the handle bar.

You've got good taste, mine is identical.

Unfortunately I don't think the stickers on the tank shroud will last long. Mine are starting to peel around the mounting bolt (where the sticker is narrow) from my knees rubbing on them.

are the indicators supposed to illuminate the floor?

Yes, they are for the masters of the halls of mines...

...by doing it like that you can participate in enduro races where "street legal" is necessary!

By turning them down you can see a bit from bachwards as well. So you can go without mounting the rear indicators

Yes, they are already broken after 100 km, the stuff is worse than after market decals...

ahh differen rules in uk we need no indicators for road, only brake light and headlamp, working horn to pass legalitys for road. much cleaner looking and i always check my shoulder befor turning any corner.

Same thing in NH

You'd think in Alaska we would have at least as lenient laws as NH, but no. We need turn signals, two mirrors, headlight, taillight, brake light, and horn.
