  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

The best answer to your issue is a powercommander 5 with auto-tune. Then you will have a system which works closer to what you are looking for from the stock setup with proper altitude adjustment.

I have a question regarding the autotune and PC5 setup and related to this thread. The autotune setup will require me to have a welder weld the new "bung" insert from autotune to fit the stock header, correct? It appears the stock header O2 sensor plug is much smaller then the autotune O2 sensor and will require the "bung" weld-in plug.

This brings me to my question(s):
1.) Does the new autotune O2 sensor need the new "bung" welded into the stock header?
2.) If the new "bung" plug is necessary, then how should it be positioned so as to not cause problems with engine or riding?
3.) What should be done with the stock O2 sensor bung plug, or is the new "bung" plug installed in its place by cutting it off and welding the new "bung" in its location?
4.) Will the new "bung" plug require the widening of the existing stock bung plug hole?

I appreciate any advice or guidance any of you guys can provide and please forgive any stupid questions. I have searched the site looking for an example of the '13 TE449 with FMF and have found where most have removed the O2 sensor; but have not found anyone running the Autotune with a picture of the new O2 sensor placement or instructions. If someone will help me with these questions I will post up my novice step-by-step photos of the process.

BTW - here is my amateur air-box modification ....critique as necessary :)

Holy Jesus, Haha, yes, that's got some holes! You may wish to cover those bottom holes though, because they will bring in hot air. As far as the bung goes, you can PM jerbear610 ask him what he did. I haven't used the oem header in so long and my bung gets welded into my megabomb header.

I've seen adaptors that screw into the stock hole, and then the bigger o2 sensor screws into the adapter. It is what they used at the Dyno when I did my bike.

Lmao; "Holely" Jesus is correct - I figured hot air is better than no air :D; but I could be wrong? I really hate discussing my "bung" size and placement but I don't have much alternative, lol.
