  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

new TE449 owner

Received mine and installed it today, here it is:
P3pipeguard.jpg

I ordered mine a week before Xmas and Eric said it was going to ship out before the end of the week. Still no pipe guard so a follow up call went in last week and he said it was going to ship by the end of last week. I also emailed him today to confirm it shipped out....wait...got an email as I was typing...he apologized for miscounting inventory and said he made mine today and will ship tomorrow!!! So now I am looking for the mailman.

How long to get yours?

It was 4 weeks.

This is the response from Rekluse:

Thank you for your interest in Rekluse products for your 449. However, we don't currently have anything available for that model. Our Research & Development team is always working on new products and to make our current products available to more models.

I have officially submitted your specific request to our R&D Team. We will keep your contact information on file. There is no ETA for this product but should something become available, we will contact you.

Only thing I can suggest is that if people are interested they email Rekluse - perhaps if there's an indication of sufficient interest they might look at it, but it sounds like the BMW clutch is sufficiently different that they'd need a new design and I'm guessing TE numbers are just not large enough to justify R&D and re-tooling for a completely new clutch?

Good news - EFM can apparently do an autoclutch for the 2011 TE.........

Yes, I spoke to Garry @ EFM before Xmas. He suggested (as I am in the UK) getting the local (to him) Husky dealer to supply him with the bits he needs and then he will mod them and then send them on. So that would be two international payments but only one delivery - which seems a reasonable way to do it.
On my to do list now that the January wallet squeeze in over.

Will be very interested to hear how it goes..............

For those waiting on the P3 carbon heat shields. 4 weeks was the longest I've seen to get one. Mine's been 5 weeks and nothing yet. I could live with that but the problem is I've called them 3 times, left messages twice (doesn't anyone ever answer?), and emailed..no response. So requesting my money back. Might be a great product but piss poor communication. Bummer.

yes, he was a little slow in the communication but finally followed through for me, 4 weeks...He replied to my emails and it is solid quality product. I called and emailed weekly. Squeaky wheel gets the oil i guess

P3 is great product but super slow and lots of people mad because no call back / response. Small shop. If you want their stuff plan ahead, you will get it but might be months. As long as you know this things will be fine and product will show up.

I'm in the UK too. This sounds like a good idea if you go through with it and its good can you post an honest opinion and complete price.

Just got a full exhaust and JD 6x in the mail, will have them mounted shortly. The suspension is coming off at the same time and being sent to Factory Connection. They said they have not worked on many Huskys, and are not sure how much they can improve on what I already have. At 210 lbs, at least a re-spring is in order. I'll post pics and a report when I get to ride it.

Can anyone give me a part# for the correct Twin Air air filter for this bike? I'm also looking for an iridium spark plug number.

I've also seen hand guards with LED signals in them, are those custom made or can I buy some?

Highway dirtbikes for the hand guards with LED signals. But to be honest while I really love the HDB handguards I'd skip the built in turn signals - the standard front turn signals are actually tucked away better.

Dont get the twin air filter for the bmw g450x.It doesnt fit.I had to buy the husqvarna filter itself

I ordered two UNI filters yesterday, they had the correct part# at the shop.

I installed the full FMF exhaust and JD 6X I bought used (Zomz?) yesterday. Huge difference, little on the loud side but I'll try to get a DB killer insert.

Update on order placed with P3: After requesting my money back I got an email the next day from Eric! To his credit he said he is swamped and was sorry for the delay. I can deal with that. Ended up getting the Husky aluminum heat shield from my dealer..$29. Not a P3 by any means but works great.
