  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Posted a couple days ago about motard wheels for a te250, well I just purchased my 2010 te250 has about 700 miles on it. Previous owner sort of gave me the ins and outs he seemed pretty knowledgable but of course when i get into the real guts of the bike(literally and figuratively) I'll probably rely on this thread. It has asv levers, the power commander, all the emissions crap gone, plus a spare back rim and tire(rotor and sprocket), and the larger tank(not installed) which is new. Also before purchase he had the fuel pump and wiring harness taken care of. I feel i got a good deal. I'm new to off road currently ride a '09 g650gs and was a little hesitant about the te250 because i'm a noob(i do have basic mechanical skills) but the deal seemed right and i took the plunge and am happy. Except it is cold in st louis right now.
otherwise any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone

I have the exact same bike. First off ck this thread out- http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/husky-shop-manuals-spec-sheets-and-more.17158/page-14. I've found the service manual to be very handy and the parts manual is great when you need to order stuff.
Secondly I'd check to torque on any bolt/nut/etc. you find. these bikes are famous for losing weight by shedding fasteners.
Also (and very importantly), re-grease ALL of the bearings in the wheels, swingarm, linkage, headstock, etc.
they are lightly greased with crappy stuff and will fail if you don't take care of them well. A good waterproof marine grease (I use Bel Ray) will save you a headache or two and some bucks in the future.
One more thing... CHANGE YOUR OIL ALOT!!! The thing only holds 900 ml of oil (which IMHO isn't enough for a DOHC engine). I usually change the filter every other oil change.

As for the neutral light. I'd bet there's a short/broken wire or disconnection from the neutral sensor (or the sensor just may need cleaning). As you can see in the photos it's just ahead of the countersprocket.
Godd luck with the bike, I absolutely love mine.

Well reading the owners manual thumb drive, which i think is kind of kool, it didnt say there was a neutral light. Thats why i took that part out of the original post. I just assumed all bikes had them.
