I completely understand the point you're making, but one has nothing to do with the other.

And... I race my CR because I think it's a better, more competitive bike than a YZ125, and it was half the price. Now THAT'S a bargain. I don't see the Yamaha being a bargain. Not expensive, but Jap bikes are cheaper for a reason.

I ve got the 2013 WR125 and a 2005 YZ 125- i like both bikes- but just by the build quality the yamaha ist far better, when it comes to the suspension- i think everybody knows which bike has the better suspension (ok- my yz runs the newer style sss forks) - when it comes to sheer power i think the Husky is better- but thats it.


BTT- it seems like yamaha did not plan to do a WR 2 stroke in the first place.
But now they realised there is a market for it- the might stop converting their bikes mx bikes here in europe and build them from ground up as a wr soon?
I m sure the will do- but we have to give them some more time- at least the are doing something- not like the yellow,red and green ones...

You mean the manufacturer that's been peddling the same motocross bike for the last 10 years? Good luck with that. They'll do the absolute minimum - and they're still better than the other Jap bike manufacturers.

It has (for the second time) NOTHING to do with what I ride.

No offense, but to compare 2016 apples to 2016 apples, (in California):
2016 KTM 250 XC-W: $8,499 + fees: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/mcd/5280640298.html

Same dealership. $1,109 difference and you have to immediately spend > $500 to fix the 4CS forks on the KTM.
Though, the first thing I'd probably do is pop $400 on a Lectron for the YZ. Whereas, from what I've heard, the stock carb on the XC-Ws is pretty good.

And the big down side for me personally is you still don't have E-start and lighting capability. The lights are important to me in winter riding as it means I can ride another hour or two and not worry about getting back.m And I love hydro clutchs.

I rode a yz250 last year set up for woods and it was really impressive. The bike was a tractor, with crazy smooth power. I've said for a long time, a yz125 makes a great woods bike. It's no Italian husky, but it's way better than any of the other jap 125's that were available
