• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We just got these in. Bigger Nomad tanks that fit the 2012-2013 models. Let me know if you are interested. I have been using the smaller one on my 2011 TE511 with zero issues for over a year. Gives me 100+ mile range which I love for my DS rides. Thanks.

That is a nice looking tank, and the added volume is a plus in my book.
Are they on the site yet?
I will put one on my short list to buy soon.
Thanks,
Rich

Nice. Bike looks ready for action. thank you.

BTW it looks like you have a petcock on the vent??? should be on the fuel line and on all the time unless removing or something.

It's the parallax view. I used clear hose so I can see the fuel.IMG_0651.JPG

What is on your header? Looks like a ton of hose clamps.

The hose clamps are to keep the bushes from trashing the exhaust wrap, again. I have a carbon fiber pipe guard on order but it doesn't look like I am ever going to get it.

Thanks, Fathers Day is just around the corner...

From the pictures the 4.5 looks like a great size and fit, do you think the 4.5 is too big on the rear fender approx 22-24 lbs when full?

4.5 liters of gas weighs 7.32 pounds and the tank it self is about 2 pounds. Your under 10 pounds. i ahve had zero issues hammering mine through endless whoops etc. The 449/511 subframes are very nice and strong.

OK Thanks 4.5 liters is about 2.2 gallons I think. I thought it would weigh more. Now I need to find a new place for my enduro bag.
EDIT my math is sucking today. looks like 1.1 gallons! Man I thought that Nomad looked compact for a 2 gallon container.:o
