• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Having that much available traction available was just silly! The motoz and Tubliss were a killer combination. The predictability when the rear was sliding under braking was very confidence inspiring. :thumbsup:

The rim protection with a flat tire is amazing, I rode a 35 miles with a flat front and the only way I knew it was flat was I could feel the rocks hitting the rim on the 70+ MPH road section. The flat was due to a faulty tubliss install by me... That same tubliss is the reason I could ride it flat though, it didn't come off the rim at all. The gauge registered at Zero at the end of my lap.

Oh and that was me after my first lap, my sweaty head tells me so.

I tried the Motoz tires for the fist time at the 24 hour Starvation Ridge team race in Goldendale WA. The race course is set in a 25 mile loop with a pretty good mix of loam, hard pack, grass track, rocks, gravel, powder silt, a little mud, and wooden floors in a barn and a farm house.
I usually would not go into a race not having proved a tire out at the local riding area, but after seeing the pure aggressive stance and cut of this tire after delivery I decided to go ahead and us them for this event. Very good choice on my part (doesn't happen often). These tires where without a doubt the best choice for all around performance. First thing noticed that this tire hooks up, I mean they really grab the ground and lay the power down, second is that they were predictable. As the miles clicked off on my lap I continued to push the tires and myself to the limits. The tires never once let loose unpredictably.
After 125 miles of very aggressive riding the tires show very little wear. There are no torn knobs and the edges are still sharp.
The sizes that I used on my modified TXC 450 were the 130/90-18 and the 80/100-21 front.
Bottom line for me is;
Great tires that wear well and inspire confidence. I will continue to use these tires on the 450 and will be putting them on my 250 Enduro bike.
The only down side is that they throw big nasty clumps of soil and rocks skyward and into the riders behind, oh well.
 
I installed a set of the MotoZ enduro for the NJ Hammer Run. Lots of sand - slop and slick roots. I was impressed with the overall performance. The tracking of the front tire was very impressive.

It is about time for some new tires what do you think would work the best in the Idaho desert area most ridding is dry but with some water. dry rocky sandy and hard pack most of the time what size front and back for a 08 TXC450 love this bike!
 
Was feeling a little more limber Sunday and mounted up my Terrapactors front and rear on my WR 144. I got to put around the property this afternoon and all I can say is:

HOLY HOOK-UP :eek:

First time across the grass field and had it in the dreaded flying W in 3rd gear.:lol: Managed to save it and quickly gained some respect for the traction the rear has. I could not get the front to push even in the soft stuff. I am at 6 psi in the rear and 10 psi in the front. I was pulling 5th gear hard shift wheelies on the county gravel road in front.:excuseme: Have I told everyone that my WR 144 ripppps.

It will be interesting to see if I get the same life as you guys were getting with your Tracula's.

I just got back from a week of riding in the desert in Nevada and Arizona. Here are some pics of the Terrapactor after almost 200 miles of rocks, bare bed rock walls, and more rocks. Not a single chunked knob and they are just starting to round off. Awsome hook-up and incredible braking force. This is at least a 700 mile tire in western Montana which is 3 times average. :cheers:

Glad you like them. The Enduro S/T is quickly becoming my favorite tire period. Jake and Shane are running the Traculas (as am i on my 125) and they wear like iron and hook like glue. Good stuff. :thumbsup:

- A buddy of mine has 1100 miles on his Enduro IT's on a 07 WR250 and they still look OK****************************************!! He got laid off work so I gave him a new terrapactor and he has yet to put it on saying the IT's are still working good. Unbelievable. I ride with him all the time and he climbs all the slick clay crap we do no problem. These things are awesome. :notworthy:
 
Rode 80 miles at Ginger Creek (Trask), worked awesome on everything. i love these tires. mainly dry clay with roots and rocks and silt with some mud sections. Best NW tires i ahve ever tried. I'd stick with the enduro rear as well, it does mud just fine. Going to run the Terrapactor ST rear when the real mud hits again. I think that will be a winner as well.

How often do you ride there? That's my main stomping ground that I rode about once a week 'til recently. If you ever saw a KX250, RM250 and sometimes a couple of KTM's that was us.

I keep trying new places thinking I'll like somewhere else better-- I haven't so far.

3-4 times a year. I ride Gifford a ton in the summer. Ever see a WR250 up there? That's my buddy Adam, he likes to ride up there a lot. Another friend Mark rides a 08 WR125 up there a lot.

I'll have to start paying more attention. The only bikes that stick out like sore thumbs to me are the KTM's. You'd think I'd notice the other bikes since they seem to be in the minority up there. I'll see if I can help change that.

Next spring we should get a group ride together and do up Ginger Creek, would be a sight. :thumbsup:
 
I'm down as long as I can get used to the 510 in the woods. I'll have to do plenty of practice runs first.... I don't want to embarass myself.

I'm keeping my KX250 until I get the 510 fixed up and running well-- I want to be sure I like the big bike in the woods. The plan when I bought the 510 was to sell the 250, at least that's what I told my better half ;)
 
I used to ride at Trask a bunch until this year. Love that place :thumbsup:

I've ridden out of Hollywood camp a few times this year, but not from Ginger. I'll be spending some time there after the near year though.

And..... I've got some Motoz on the way. I believe they're the Enduro IT's.
