  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New part out for 09-11 WR125. I begged for it in USA...It is now headed here. Part # 3318. Stainless Steel. Screen type and removable/replaceble.

price unkown. any person that get get leo vince should be able to get this. FMF has been only answer for the 125/150 and the nneed for a S/A aside from the older stock husky stocker.

MSRP is $169. Uses standard X3 replacement thimble screen. Looks by length to have more packing than the FMF that is available due to FMF using the Kritzman/fin setup that takes up about 1/3 to 1/2 of the length that "could" be used for packing and making quieter.

ETA to states (LV disto center) to follow.

I may have to pick one of these up. Haven't inspeted my FMF yet to see exactly what happened or how hard it will be to fix but at the end of my last ride the tip had fallen into the can.

I just got one for my 300. Very nice quality and sound output. They claim that the packing lasts for 50+ hours. Good stuff!

what is the eta on availability in the U.S.

See my first post......"to follow"....

wow - if its anything like the 4t one is going to be quiet - a must have

Unlike the POS that is also offered by a 3 letter company, it uses a easily removable screen for the SA (these are avail as replacements too if you ever clog it). It is longer than the POS....uses better packing, and does not use the Kritzman style SA which on the POS takes up so much interior room that packing volume is same as an MX type....not quiet.

Stand by for ETA and will post soon

LV makes first rate, top notch stuff! love to see a pipe from them for this too! their stuff ROCKS. good to see options as well!

that said, having grown up with screen's though i'll never go back after the turbine came out. have also yet to have an FMF muff/SA fail on any of my scoots. got a lot of hours on my '09's so far, no issues. screen SA's are useless here is the dusty/rocks land on smokers. they can clog in less than a tank in the tight stuff if yer paddlin' up stuff/stuck in a dust cloud et al. screen's might be good for moister climates where dust aint an issue. (my 02, YMMV, i love you all, have a nice day, lets ride mreeeep!)

The same thing happened to our FMF. I took it out and left it out. Now it how more of a hollow sound reminiscent of the older air-cooled 2 strokes. Very cool in my book.

I thought about that but wasn't sure if I would pass tech next time I want to do an enduro. FMF said there was no fix for it and it was out of warranty so I ended up buying a new one.
