• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Husqvarna Website - 'Courage not included'.

It did seem a little odd in hindsight to be planning a world-wide press launch in the middle of a weekend. Calendar not included, I guess. ;)

My personal theory was that there must be a race this weekend where a production bike could be used & photographed in public...

In the meantime I've been googling.... and noticed this. Meo is *really* doing well in the WEC!

Summer Break for WEC, no race until GP of Greece Aug. 28-29. Meo is CH Racing Team, on the TE250 in the E1 class, so has nothing to do with new bike (449/511) intro.. E2 class which the 449 runs in is the Husky/BMW Team.

Okay... I read the press release. I didn't realise they were doing the TEi250 and TE310 intro with the 449 and 511's. So it makes sense to highlight Meo's E1 Class success.

I would imagine it stands for injection, meaning fuel injection. WEC teams used to run carbs even on FI bikes.

Man I screwed up... I meant to simply copy the last 5 posts in this thread to a new thread here but instead I moved them :banghead:

Perhaps it will work out better this way?

I'll make the other thread a sticky to re-enforce the idea that would be the best place to talk about the 449.

I heard that this time they're giving away a handful of the new bikes free as a marketing promotion, but they're going to the first people who apply once the countdown reaches zero so you have to watch it and be poised like a coiled spring ready for the invitation to appear.

Or was it that nothing's going to happen (again) as it's just a bug in the counter software and it will keep restarting for no reason at random periods? Maybe that was it.

Well if they are going to give away free bikes I might as well change the date/time on my computer so it gets to 0 now, and get one. :p

Now there's going to be ten million + people watching the countdown

It is up.

As I expected it looks like the video equivalent to the Husky Jungle they did a few years ago, except people can upload their own videos, and presumably when they are approved they will be displayed. Of course to upload people need to create an account.

People can rate videos, watch the promo video, etc.

i just saw this one, but it also could be another photoshop... :excuseme:

yeah its a chop, it says TE on the side panel.
I was just a bit worried since there were no 2010 RR model supermoto's and no mention of the 2011 standard models yet.

yeah your are right,

i also doubt if they will make a 2011 rr, since that are the replica's of their race bike but they still riding their "old" 450's
