• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Husqvarna Website - 'Courage not included'.

I think it's probably the "brainchild" of the guy who used to put the stickers on the plastic. After all, he needs *something* to do... right????

To be honest I lost interest ages ago - it's now just mild curiosity to see how they handle it as much as anything else. I'm half expecting nothing at all to happen on the "Courage" site.

Yeah, I got a " This better be good! " sort of attitude about it.

Well, the count got down to zero here and unless I'm missing something, nothing appears to have changed (as I suspected).

Maybe that's intended as a metaphor, suggesting that nothing major will have changed in that the new bikes will still be proper Huskys?

I watched the clock click down to 0 and ....nothing happened. Why have a countdown if nothing happens?

Yeah, this makes no sense... I don't see anything new anywhere... hah! Come on guys.

Not sure I could get all worked up over another 450 four stroke, especially with a BMW (sort of) engine. Now a 450 2 stroke would take some guts to race!

That's been done... I raced a 1983 CR480 and a 1983 YZ490....still a lot of 2s 500's around... grab a CR or KX... grip it and rip it.

OK I give, help me out please. So... it's Husky's Birthday?

It's cafehusky.com's birthday, not Husqvarna.

The countdown timer simply coincided with it, that's all.

It was my attempt at a small bit of humor, it seemed appropriate. :)

OH! Well that one went over my head LOL. I thought it had something do do with the countdown clock Husky used and couldn't for the life of me make the connection. Hey I did hit my head really hard about six weeks ago. Anyway happy birthday! Now Dean if you can explain what was supposed to happen when the Husky clock got to 0 my head will quit hurting.

Perhaps the countdown was for the day that the marketing team gets fired for the worst campaign in history?

Not sure what to say. I was not told what would happen when the countdown got to zero.

My understanding is some press releases are forthcoming this week, but I'm not sure when exactly.

I did just now sign up as 'press' to get news emailed to me, but of course that may be some time in coming. My wild guess would be nothing may come in for the next 12 hours... but I really have no idea.

From the responses in this thread, I'm not sure the the countdown clock did anything of a positive nature. Perhaps there was a mistake?

It is the release of the new TE/TC 450, 500
I think we'd all pretty much got that! :D

The problem is that we got it from elsewhere, not by looking at the "Courage Not Included" site. What I don't understand (and I think others too):

1. Why there was a site intended to market the new Huskys which didn't actually mention them, so that it wasn't even clear what the purpose of the site was let alone having anything on it of particular interest to Husky fans?

2. Why there was a countdown timer on the site which has now reached zero and nothing at all seems to have changed? What was supposed to happen when it reached zero? If the answer is "nothing at all" (or if the timer was just set wrong and is some hours/days out) then this really must be right up there with the most inept marketing I've ever seen.
