• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New Husqvarna Website - 'Courage not included'.

I must be missing something on that site……but for the life of me I don’t understand; where is the connection to Husqvarna on that site ???
Is it like a game that you need to play or something ?
It’s just a bunch of videos, not even bike related…

What am I missing ?

:excuseme:

Not sure either on what's happening in 56 days, but I do know that there are some awesome videos. Some of those big surf clips were just miles from where I grew up on Maui.

I think the marketing team dropped the ball on this one....the message is totally lost, unless you're into windsurfing?

A little more information has come to light - this is part of the build up to the launch of the new 450. The countdown is for the European press launch which (by my maths) will be 19th July and more content will be added to the site as time progresses.

Its a kind of 'watch this space' situation currently!

Dave

I noticed they gave a level of courage to each video, but no 10CQ video yet :P could it be they do some video contest too?

bravery level 11 is the Chinese tank driver who says "hell with global reaction" and floors it over the protester!

Not sure I could get all worked up over another 450 four stroke, especially with a BMW (sort of) engine. Now a 450 2 stroke would take some guts to race!

It says there are 29 days left... but the 29th day from today will be july 24th or 25th... what are you talking about saying 19th? :)
and i wonder why they still didn't add anything on the site...

Maybe the website can't count...*

I found it disappointing anyway. I think they'd be much better off having a site you could actually see was about the new bike - if you aren't observant you might not notice it's even related to Husky (and certainly not to bikes). I'd rather it was made obvious what the purpose was, and ideally release a tasty morsel of information (e.g. how many speeds in the gearbox) and a new close-up picture from time to time, just to keep people coming back to the site and build the anticipation.

Mind you, I'm only a potential customer for the new bike and not a highly paid marketing consultant, so I've probably just missed the point. Maybe someone can explain it? Maybe something was lost in the translation from Italian? :excuseme:

that's the best thing they could do, unveiling new details and info day by day to entertain and make you want to go back to the site to discover more... it should be clear but maybe it's not :P

I hope this was due to the fact that the site was made last month and that since we're now closer to the launch they'll add something!
