• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I had one of the BMW F800STs; a sweet engine in a chassis that I could not make fit me.

I suspect that a Husky version would be flavored more like a BMW Adventure... high clearance, offroadable if not for the bulk. How about CTS in the mix to differentiate from BMW??

Im unlikely to buy one, but there is probably a market.

There are enough ADV bikes out there now, including bmw, that a Husky model can build off of to make a very competitive bike right off the bat...

BMW has a bit of a gap in their product line, the F800 GS is a good bike, but could be more dirt worthy. The 1200GS and GSA are just too big for serious off road use. So, a 900 Husky with a SM and TE version could be a huge hit.

The split in the radiator \ tank shroud, coupled with that first black dot on the gunsight, looks just like a fish with its mouth open ... Are they trying to say something here?

I sense a bike fire sales at Kellys house in the near future to afford one of these beauties. Just took my FJ1200 out for a rip first time this year, fun stuff. Flower blooming like crazy, nice twisty back roads, got to love it. Quick 106 miles after work, no clean up, good to go again, thats the joy of a street bike. ;)

old school fun...

Now that's the first street concept drawing I have seen that I like. I like it a lot! Like Kelly said, if they build that my ol trusty Buell xb9r might just be on the chopping block. That is one sexy looking germatalian bike! Build it and they will come.

Ooooo - i like!
Here i was looking at a Ducati Monster 1100 as a street machine to replace the ill SV1000.
Lets hope BMW/Husky get something going in the next couple of years (2012/2013) - and ill buy!
