  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey new here and new to a husky, just picked up a 09 wr125, it has a bog on the low to mid rpms, dont know much about bike, have v force 3s, only has about 125psi so gonna rebuild it this winter. Also cracked the motor mounts the first ride, any advice on jetting for these bikes and any mods or etc I should do or know about? Im in ontario canada at 1000ft elavation, ride mostly mx and some trails. Mixed at 40:1 and plug looks .

Thanks

Hi Welcome to the forum

to get the jetting headache out of the way get a lectron carb on it

want to have more oempf there is a 165 option on the table (tunable for a mountain goat mentality but also a scalded monkey screamer) your choice.

search a bit on this form for lectron and 165.

these mods are just for ease and smiles

Congrats on the new to you bike. The lectron is a great option. You might want to let us know what carb is on the bike. The bog is common with the stock carb. I'm also in Ontario @ 1000ft. With an 09 144. Great bike. Rob Lang at Langs Offroad knows these bikes very well and can get you parts and set it up for you.

Welcome,

There's a bunch of posts on the 125 bog and fixing it with an Suzuki rm needle or you can just buy a Lectron and have it better in every way.

Look at post #248

Wow, after months of riding with a flat spot in the middle, I finally had the time to go back over everything and I believe I originally did not have enough pre-load on the PV arm. I re-adjusted the arm and BINGO got it to pull in the middle. My bike has real smooth power from bottom to top now with no suprise rush (kinda boring) but it's great for the stuff I ride in! As noted in my current set-up below I'm running a small pilot, I may even need a smaller pilot in the summer as it has no bog off idle even when cold!?. My set-up:
2009 WR125 with power-up kit, FMF gnarly pipe and spark arrestor, stock PV spring/silver combo, AMSOIL Dominator 40:1 w/ 93 octane pump gas 60-70 degrees, 600-800 ft elevation (central NC)
Stock Mikuni Carb with 5.0 slide, RM 62 needle in middle pos, 450 Main, 30 pilot, Air screw 2 turns out

The thing is you will spend quite a bit on needle, slide, and jets to do this after you're done the Lectron is still going to improve your performance.

125-200cc 09 Wr 125 Bog/Performance Solved?

Good timing. My coat pocket with my phone got filled with water while working on a water line in the barn tonight. Might be a day or two before it will go again...maybe never :(
