• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi ll a bit about how I got here. It all started at the end of October when my xl600lmf started smoking. A friend told me about a ktm520sx for sale £1600 no offers. So rang the seller and arranged to go look the folllowing Sunday. Tell the wife :notworthy: Sunday finally gets here and off I go with a fist full of £s. when I get there seller disappears into garage and drags out a 2000 te610e, so I point out that I had come over to look at a ktm, at this the seller said " no its both bikes and i wont split the sale". So i did the decent thing and near broke his arm trying to load both bikes into my landrover before he changed his mind, so money paid and a short drive before I pull over and look in the backand think about what I had just dont:eek:. When I got home didnt need to tell wife:busted:kids did that for me. since getting them home I have changed oil and filters on both and on husky new battery speedo cable. Today the husky has gone for mot test. Will let you know how we get on.

I hope you have jagged a winner there. The 610 is in my opinion the best dual purpose bike out there. It is highly capable on and off the road and will just work for ever. The 520 sx will also be a good bike-a bit explosive in the tight but a good big bore machine. Good luck and welcome to Cafe Husky. Keep us appraised on how things work out-even throw in a couple of shots of your 610. Please feel free to ask any question, your fellow members are extremely knowlegable, helpful and friendly.

Welcome--agreed. I love my 09-610 to bits. I just want to ride her whenever i can. Enjoy your bike.

well passed the mot today no probs. Just need my insurance and I can tax it ,hope before the weekend so I can try it out on the local byways.

So rang husky sport and gave them frame number and they tell me its sm610s:confused::confused: Now to mot ktm and sell after christmas or the wife will make me spend the money on non essentials like presents and food:eek:
