  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

One thing I've been wondering about the 449/511 is that with the new, underseat fuel tank design, won't designing an oversized aftermarket tank be a bit of a problem?

Safari Tanks are on with it. They did it for the Husaberg and BMW G450X with the underseat tanks.

had another hour on her today and i have to say she is spot on my 08 was geared completely wrong and had to fiddle with the suspension to get it work right for me but the 449 seems good straight out of the box,cant wait to get 5 or so hours run in time on her and take her up the woods to really see how she goes.one problem is the hour meter isn't recording the hours so contacted the dealer and he is going to send me a replacement.

There is no HT lead so an aftermarket hour meter wont work on it. Like the CRF. Coil is buried in the rocker cover/pug access. The ecu should give you run hours when you plug into ibeat.

hours

still should record hours,when you switch ignition on hours should start running like my 08.i know this because i left the ignition on on my 08 once and i clocked up a load of hours in the garage.if there isnt a hour meter that is shite how do you know service intervals definately is hour meter on it.hour meter built into clock not aftermarket.i find it amazing guys that here in the uk we have actually got some thing before the U S thats pretty amazing really i cant believe you still havnt got the 449 and its been out 4 months here.

They only record after 1 complete hour too, did you know that? Turn it off after 59 mins and you lose that hour...Just don't tell the guy who's buying it when you trade :)

cheers for that

thats a bit daft so if i ride for 50 mins then turn engine off and ride again for 50 minutes and go home it wont read at all ? how are you meant to keep track of hours bit daft isnt it.So does it record engine run time or ignition on time because the 08 recorded ignition on time.

Sweet looking bike. Rumor is they might import them to America. :D

We just started testing the TXC this week. Can't really make too many conclusions yet other than it is all there and all works. But here is a little something to tease you with;

For me, I've read all the "impressions" on the new bikes so far. I'm anxiously awaiting Chilly's coments on the TXC. Chilly will tell it like it is.
