  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New 2011 TE449 with JD EFI Tuner - first ride

Randy,

After you stall it, is it hard to start?
Mine starts first hit, but when I stall out I can hardly get it running again.
I feel like I need to learn the trick to do it.

Sometimes it seems when I go to re-fire it's at the begining of the compression stroke and I need to bump it a couple times before holding the starter in , I have never not been able to start with it in gear.... I can tell the clutch is dragging a little.

I'm running 10w 50 oil. With a filter change the bike takes 1ltr this is just under half way up the site glass. Im fitting a tc449 fmf power bomb fitting to the akra its not a good fit and needs a couple of modifications. Ive gone back to try 51tooth rear sprocket just to see if the bike will lift its front wheel a littleq easier. My next ride with be on the 4th March

Are you riding enduro Kent on the 4th March?

Yes, i'll be with a few husky and ktm friends......... we're going to have a two lap dash the rider whos last buys a round of teas...... should be good for a lot of elbowing, cutting up and really bad overtakes....lol.... its what you'd expect from a bunch of mid aged guys...lol

FMF TC449 front pipe does not fit the AKRA....gutted

I've been give this Shock to try out. The purple knob does both high and low speed compression. The black knob does something called ICS adjuster. If i'm understanding this correctly ICS detects compression from wheel movement up and down and chassis movement.

This picture shows the Reiger Shock next to the KYB. As a point of referrence my KYB has had its strock shortened by 4mm. The Reiger when i measured from the top of the shocks eye/bolt hole to the bottom eye/bolt hole are exactly the same.

The link below is of the bike i believe the Reiger shock came off. A young and very talented rider who beat ricky dietrich at round one of the British Sprint Enduro Championship. I only make reference to ricky because you guys in the USA may know this rider.
