  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New 2011 TE449 with JD EFI Tuner - first ride

spud1968

Husqvarna
AA Class

The clip taken by me today as a course official checking the course as a travelling marshalling for any fallen/hurt riders. The JD EFI Tuner has not been altered from its stock settings. Seems to work okay no big power boost to frighten me, although this ride is in tight woodlands so not really given it a bit fist full of revs. Power is smooth but could do with being a little more agreesive. The TE449 has the stock tyres from new and i'm not a fan of the AC10 front.

My next ride will involve a few suspension tweaks..... I may keep this topic running with clips of the me riding as the bike progress.

So far - loving the TE449

Try taking the JD tuner's "accelerator pump" setting up a notch or two. It should make things a bit more agressive.

Cool vid...
Is it normal for the course marshall to be passing riders like they are standing still?
Im loving my te449 and JD tuner, they work well together.
Like Krieg mentioned, the accelerator pump settings are worth while having a play with. Makes a more snappy type of power.

jerbear, the graphics came from - http://www.lr-designs.co.uk/#

swoggjb, I was just checking rider numbers when passing to see their front number boards hadn't fallen off . I'll go up a couple of settings on the accelerator pump thanks Krieg as well:D

Second ride and not marshalling this time. I've made some adjustments to the JD Tuner and fitted an Iridium plug. This is my first wet ride and i'm impressed. Clicky video below...

Greate bike & rider ability .....
You get past all these bikes in the slippery mud ....... we call it in Greece (building contruction )

Petros

I will try and remember the "building contruction" when I'm lucky enough to ride past another rider, and thanks for the comments.

Spud 1968, nice vid. I occassionaly get down to Enduro Kent. Who did you buy your JD Tuner from,If you don't mind what did it come to in £., did you get stung for import tax? Do you rate it as a worth while improvement for uk use, we do seem to be out in rain and mud most the time.

Cool video, but I keep trying to lean back in my chair to get a view further down the course. Maybe if you were to tip the camera up a little for the next video it would be better.

Hello Motomanic, the EFI tuner I purchased from the supplier direct and it cost about $200 inc p&p. Tax to pay but cheaper than a power commander. What i like about it is you can alter the settings its not remapping its just adding and taking away fuel. I've never run the bike without it so i can't say what the bikes like in stock trim. And if you like gadgets like i do then this is the one to have.

Spud1968...nice videos!
are you running stock exhaust and when you say "stock" tires are they the same as the U.S.. metzlers?

During my last ride i noticed the on the instrument display the indicator/signally light along with the high beam blue light on. Neither were turned on and i did turn the bike off and see if these lights would go out. Today i carried out the TPS reset and the lights cleared. This may be nothing but i thought it worth a mention.
