  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

New 13 TXC310R new owner questions

iiiiiiiiitttttttttttsssssss Johnny!!! lol. Just a jab at Johnny as I'm his buddy who bought the TXC 250r, leading to lightening his pocket for the 310 ;-)

These are great bikes and I'm thankful that we found this forum because the feedback and willingness to help has been great. We purchased our bikes in Raleigh, NC and yeah we have seen the struggles of a clueless dealer for sure when it comes to the Huskys. I can tell you however, I have been in discussions with Wilmington Powersports, specifically "Fred" - their service guy and he knows these Husky's extremely well. I was provided a crash course over the phone in 25 min. Talk about great customer service. In case anyone in the NC region needs a Husky contact I would highly recommend giving those folks a call.

Again thank you all for the feedback/help so far.

I do have one last question (ok two). Where are you all ordering exhausts for these bikes? I am finding it challenging to locate any exhausts for the 13 models. Also, anyone order a skid plate for these 2013 models yet?

Skid plate from Hyde racing is very nice IMO. Mounts up easy too. SG112 model number. Comes in red or black

I called FMF last month for my 13 txc 310 and they did not know when they were going to get any in. (May not, since the bikes are no longer being manufactured.) Pro Circuit has them available, but they are proud of them.

Wasn't that just for the 2012 manual? I believe the shop manual linked is updated specifically for the 'r' models and only shows the proper head.

Hey you're probably right. The 2013 manual wasn't available a few months ago, I'll have to update too. Thanks.

I've got a 2010 TC250 ti silencer (Arrow) slipped onto the original header on my 13. It's 1kg lighter and does the job better than stock. A few have told me not to bother changing the header as its already good.
Also, got the husky ally bash plate from the special parts catalogue.

I've been working on developing our own exhaust systems and I had planned on producing one for the 310R. I feel that our designs are superior to F brand products, but it may take quite a bit of time for the development.

Call Bill's I think he has Leo Vince or something in stock just can't recall now. Tinken keep me informed on your system for a 2013 TC250 please.

How does it mount? It appears to better protect the rear area where the oil hose is for those not moving to ZT's new oil setup.

It utilizes the stock bolt location and then has 1 additional mount location on the rear and includes a threaded plate that sites in the frame. Easy to take on and off.

You can remove the baffle out of your stock silencer and it will perform the same as the FMF. Just another option.

I hind site I should have done this. I bought the 4.1 right before the hole classless move happened and I feel like crap having it bolted on there...

It's hard to bring up because of some backlash but there was an incident of an exhaust company that starts and ends with the letter F that engaged in some fund raising for the Caselli family and it was reported that most of the $ was pocketed... That's all I have to say about that.
