• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hi does any one know standard jet sizes for 79 or 390 probally same as cr,need main jet size, pilot and clip position.at mo it has 360 main and not sure of pilot as i cant read it heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp jetting is my achiles heel:banghead: forgott to say its a mikuni 38 i and cant seem to find settings for this carb.

The parts list should show you the stock jetting that it came out with. Clip position I can't tell you but it would be in the owners manual if any one has one. I know the 78 390clip position was 4th from the top.

Here's something a guy posted at a Swedish carb site.
Don't know if it will work for you, but it could be a reference.

HVA 390 -79
Mikuni VM 38
Main jet 430
Pilot jet 45
Needle jet R2
Needle 6DH3
Air jet 2.0
Slide 2.0

HEre is 0 to 3000 ft elevation

From PRocircuit 1980

"Jetting for 250/390 CR 1980 ProCircuit
Here is the reccomended jetting for the 1980 250/390 CR from ProCircuit for Southern California elevation 0 to 3000 ft

Pro Circuit knew Huskys back in the day information is a direct quote from ProCircuit

250 CR Husky 1980
38 mm Mikuni Round slide
Stock Needle 6DH3 change to 6F15
Stock Main jet 430 change to 480
Stock R2 Needle Jet change to R0 or Q8
Go to a 60 Pilot
These changes from the stock factory bike will result in cleaning up the bottom end and make the top end a lot fatter.

390 CR Husky 1980
38mm Mikuni Round Slide
all the same changes but go with a 50 Pilot"

Hope this helps... this should be similar to a Procircuit running the AAsch Pipe.
