• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need shock mounting parts

Phillip at husqvarna-parts.com has everything but the stepped spacer for the upper heim joint, dont know where you get those other than second hand.

Here is the pic I was looking for. I couldn't find the height info on my pc. CP I can send you one for a sample if you do want to make some. I would like 8 of them if you do.

You know it does not pay to read without thinking. I got to thinking later tonight and I think I have steered this the wrong way. I don't have an 81-82 but the post about the stepped spacer for the upper heim joint made me assume it was the same as the one I have. I looked at the picture on Husqvarna-parts and it says 78-85 all. So tonight after a great conversation with Chayzed Pilot I started looking at frames. If your bike has the post type mount these wont work. Only if it has the bracket type mount. Seems all frames by 1980 or maybe 79 were post. Some pics for reference. Sorry for the confusion. I do have an 84 250 and would be happy to provide those measurements also. 82 shock mount.PNG81 shock mount.PNG1980 shock mount.PNG1979 shock mount.PNG 82, 81,80,79

I made 4 of them this afternoon. It takes a little time but can be done in either steel or aluminum. I plated them while I was at it. These are for the firecracker kid.
