  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need Power up kit for 2012 TE250

ARH

Husqvarna
AA Class
I called my local Husky dealer today to order the power up kit, but I guess there is some trouble with the EPA. and they don't have anything for the 2012 bikes yet. I really want to get rid of that canister thing on the side before a log rips it off for me. I also want to remove the throttle stop, exchange the air filter frame and I guess there is some sort of oxygen sensor... I'll need instructions too. The mechanic said it was best to do it all at once. Anyway, I want it to run like my husband's 2011 TE250 that has already had all this done before he got it. My bike seems kind of gagged up compared to his. Has anyone else powered up their 2012 TE250? if so where did you get the parts?

My first question would be why didn't the bike come with the p.u. Kit? The 10's and '11's did. Check with another dealer to see if they give u the pu kit, your dealer might be taking advantage. There is no reason you couldn't remove the can, and throttle stop off the bike right now. I did with my '10 while I broke the bike in.

What's in the kit? Is it not just a resistor plug?

I thought it was just a matter of removing the cat, the throttle stop, and the o2 sensor and plugging in the resistor plug to switch to the new map?

In the 2 years past, the p.u. Kit came w a new chain, 50 tooth sprocket, resister, muffler insert, o2 plug' air filter cage, air filter cover.

Ahh, forgot about the filter cage. My 2009 was already done when I got my bike from the dealer.

and pull the springs off the center joint in the pipe, the Cat falls right out.

The Spark Arrestor insert is less baffled than the quiet, non-SA insert... so either quiet or sparkless, but not both seems to be the arrangement. I think I will rig a screen over the llong baffle and get both quiet and sparkless.
