  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need places to ride near Evansville, IN

A Class
Needing a place to ride my new TXC 511 near Evansville that aren't torn up by 4 wheelers!!

No kidding!!! Sucks to drive 1 hour or more after working 3rd shift. My search continues:-) My Husky needs to run...

Interlake and Little Egypt. Have heard of some single track near Boonville but not sure where.

ISRA has been trying to expand its single track. We were working on it a couple years ago and were told it was next in line for surface mining. Found out now that it will be below ground. Efforts are now underway to restrict access to the southwest corner.

FOIL meeting was last night. Black Coal is now working with them. And will have two races this year. Contact black coal and lend a hand. There is plenty of room to ride and plenty of trails that need work.

Who is FOIL?

BTW- Big  to Tom Hartman, of Big Four Cycle. Last time I was up there he was cleaning the rest rooms. Pretty cool seeing the owner of several bike shops driving an hour to clean the toilets in the middle of the week.

Friends Of InterLake
It is supposed to be the gathering spot for interlake volunteers.
But anymore, Tom would be the person to talk too.

I'm also primarily riding at Interlake and LEOR. Add to that Turkey Bay. There is quality racing around here with several series' and the events at Lynnville Park and now this year at Interlake. Sometimes to ride locally you have to enter races.

Planning on doing that this year. Any more info on who to contact for races would be appreciated.
