  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

    Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
AA Class
I just ran across the opportunity to buy a brand new, never ridden 2002 TE250. I am looking for any and all information on this bike, as I am seriously considering buying it. It will be used for dual sports (if I can get it licensed) and woods riding in the NE. Any and all input/information would be appreciated.

I'll move this over to 4st where the 4st people hang out, and hopefully you will get more input.

General (Main) -> 4st

It's actually a 2004 at Fred's in Syracuse. There were no 2002 TE250's. Only problem on that bike, it has titanium valves and they wore out quickly on some bikes. My dealer had one for his personal bike and they were sweet, but not as sweet, as X-Lite TE250. I bet Fred won't sell that bike cheap enough, that's why it's still there. You're better off taking advantage off the new Husky blowout going on right now!

Yup. It's the bike at Freds. I've known Fred for a very long time and even worked for him in the early 70's. Might be able to talk him into a reasonable price, might not. No problem either way. And yes, I prefer carbs for a woods bike. For a racer, EFI is definitely the way to go.

I remember that...

Otherwise extremely similar to my 2006 TE250, correct? estart?

It could be the person looking at the bike prefers carbs vs efi.
Plastic is a little different, but much like your 2006. If that bike arrived on time in 2002, it would have really kicked some KTM butt. Unfortunately it was 2 years late and everyone else caught and passed it tech wise. Still a great bike.....
