  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc need info: KTM stator swap to CR125

guscycle

Husqvarna
AA Class
I read dfeckel's post on ktm stator swap w/ lights (98-04 200exc/mxc ,00-04 250 exc/mxc and a few other crossovers)using Moose kit 2112-0214,but appears the kit is nla ...of course. Electrosport kit # ESL-235 is still available but I've heard of many quality issues with them(looks identical to Moose part). I don't want used... got burned too many times . I see from email I got from Moose that they have a Hot Shot Stator kit - for $99.00 on ebay (think RM Electrics makes it) that replaces their old item except it doesn't have the backing plate(good, can't use it on Husky anyway),no sleeve or grommet(not a deal breaker)and no pick up coil(if I'm replacing stator for new, definitely want p/u coil new) Ricky Stator has new pick up for $53.00 ( saw some on ebay for $9.00,but I don't think so!). So while I'm still piecing together my options ,I'd like to hear if anyone has used any of these options and/or have had really good /bad experiences with performance or reliability. Thanks and have a great day!

I ran the Moose M21-0099H on my 2002 CR250 which is just a basic lighting stator. I believe the CR250 uses the same size backing plate as the 125, so it should bolt right up. Let me check the CR125 stator and see if its compatible with it.

BenM, I believe that is the Hot Shot stator (as it's called) from Moose. M21-0099H also shows up under part# 2112-0707. I had my son's '02 CR250 ignition off earlier and the backing plates look similar ,,didn't have the heart to take his and put on mine. Rick Stator is also similar in construction...leaning towards buying from them because I can get a replacement pick up coil at same time.

I believe I have a re-wound ignitor coil stator without the backing plate. I also have a new pick up coil than you can use too. You will need to wire into your connector.

Wired some extension wire leads to mount CDI under seat (for now) and timed it closely to what another owner did. Starts and runs good but am looking to buy the timing tool (if it is even available- may have to contact some Italian friends to see if they can find one...seem to have a bunch more stuff over there..
