  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got a 1100 mile ride I'm leaving on Friday morning with 20 other guys and today while mounting up my front tire the front axle nut fractured/cracked while torqueing it down. Couldn't believe it since I was only using a Motion Pro tire iron as a lever..

So I'm in need of a front axle nut ASAP.

Wondering if anyone has an extra factory front axle nut that they would be interested in selling and shipping UPS 2 day air to me?

Or do you know a dealer that has one in stock that can ship ASAP?

Was going to call Halls but they are not open on Monday..
Did send an email to Motosportz..

Can do. Check your Email.

BTW, you can run it with a cracked axle nut. All the nut does is compress everything, the fork pinch bolts will keep everything together. In a pinch you could run your bike without an axle nut if you had to.

I just saw this.

Does Kelly have a solution for you? Or should I dig through what I have?

witing for reply from him ...

You probably mean waiting.

I just spent 10 minutes looking but could not find my old one. If it were me I'd get on the phone and do some searching if you did not hear back from Kelly.

It is only Monday night and you are not leaving till Friday.

EDIT - ok, it is just passed midnight :D

Thanks to all those that read this message and extended any effort in trying to help.

Forum member Gandalf has assisted and is sending a spare he had to for arrival by Thursday.

There are two other Husky owners, who I believe are Cafe Husky forum members, who will be going on the 1100 mile UP of MI CannonTrek IV this weekend. Here is a link from Adventure Rider with the trip planning.

Looks like a really nice trip put together by an incredibly organized guy (Cannon). I've been to the UP many times, we had a cabin in Hulbert!

Nice area for sure

You may want to consider taking the deet... :)

Hey Fast55

My 2007 te510 is down for a bit and I'm moving my office, so no time to ride. Let me know if you need anything off of it for your trip. You can return it later.

I know how it is right before a big trip. I can overnight something if there is time. I do have an uptite axle nut.

Have fun!

Hey Scott, you might want to obfuscate your phone number so the web spider's don't pick it up and result in you getting some unwanted telemarketing:thumbsup:

FAST1, have a great trip:cheers:
