  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I ran mine at Honey Lake in California, that track goes from 4000-4800 feet, the hill is HUGE!

I went from a 185 main to a 180, and dropped the needle/raised the clip one position. I left the 40 pilot in it.

It ran great for me there.

Here is some video from that race... I look like a spode but it is the best video action haha.

Part 1

Part 2

Later,

That looked like fun and you did well. That is one big hill after that long straight. I was wondering how bike would start after you stalled it, did not look to bad to start after you got it in neutral. That track had some big rocks on it also. I will leave jetting with 180 main with a 40 pilot and take along extras jets and change if needed. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I could have done better restarting there but that was the first time I had stalled the TC in a race. I panicked and forgot to put it in neutral, then briefly contemplated push starting it. :banghead: Pulled my head out and it started right up.

Later,

So it looks like Eight canucks will be in Moab on Feb 19 around noon and let the fun begin for 6 days. We are ready for the cold if it happens just need to dress for it. HAHA

We didn't change our jets when we went to MOAB with 4stroke carbed bikes. I did adjust the fuel screw- but that's it. AND we purposely road up to high elevation to find snow on one day. I think Wisconson (where we are from) has elevation 600-2000ft. The bikes got a little blubbery in the snow- but the temps also dropped 40 degrees.... No issues in any normal Moab attractions.

How many people are going? I live on the way only couple hours away want to pick me up on the way? I would probable bring a extra filters, chains, tires. Maybe a couple extra bikes.
Btw we are a Husky dealer Exit 275 in utah on I-15 if you need anything let me know in advance we don't stock a lot of parts. I have always had the best luck with trials bike tires down there on the slick rock.

There is two groups with four people per group one group is comming from Calgary,Alberta and one from Weyburn,Sask and meeting up in Moab on Sat 18 around noon that when we get posession of house we are renting for week. We are bringing 6 bike in are group and I think the other group is also bringing 6 bikes and two bikes are trials bikes. It looks like the weather not that great for beginning of week hope that changes.

Your going to have so much fun! If the weather isn't great just go rent a couple jeeps at least they have heaters and only cost about 150 a day. Last time I went we rented 2 4 door rubicons and a 2 door rubicon they are pretty amazing.

You shouldn't have any carb issues. I've ridden there quite a bit and my bike is set up for sea level. If the weather is terrible, make a trip to Saint George Utah for a day or two. It is usually quite a bit warmer down there. If you do decide to head down there I can send you a good GPS track of the area. I'm jealous you are headed down there. I'll be there in May for sure.
