• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Need help identifying part

Have got a bit of a problem identifying my inlet manifold/ reed block off my 79 WR 390. I ordered new gaskets for the manifold using the parts list , but as you can see it isn't anything like , does anybody know where I can get the right gaskets to fit , in the UK preferably. Or have I got an oddball part on my bike ?

More flow . Husky's factory team used them . I do believe they were available through husky parts and seem to remember that's where my dealer ordered them from for me . Boyeson used to have a listing for husqvarna mossbarger but I haven't been able to find it . But I did find a close match of boyeson's which I have been using in my 430 .

Thanks everyone for identifying the part , it's nice to know that it was an upgrade , I was a bit worried that I had got a problem on my hands :)

I will try to email Mossbarger and see if they can help me , otherwise I may have to make a gasket for it myself .

Made a gasket for the joint on the reed block today , bolted everything back together with a new manifold rubber , put a bit of fresh fuel in the carb with a syringe , and it started 3rd kick:banana:, couldn't believe it ! It has been sat in my garage since last November waiting for me to get round to it , and it's been stood in Colorado for god knows how long before it was shipped over to the UK, so to say I was pleased is an understatement :)

I've entered a hill climb / sprint on the 4th July , it's only a bit of fun before a Vinduro the following day , so I think I will try to get the bike kind of ready for that , just to see what it goes like .
