Husqvarna
I’m going to try to keep this somewhat long story short.
Back in November I decided to get in on the TE630 price reductions. I had been seriously interested in the 610/630 for quite a while, when I heard about the price drop on 630s I figured it was now or never.
Found a TE630 at a dealer on the East coast and made a deal with them to purchase the bike and have it shipped to me here in Ohio.
Fast forward a week or two and I get a message from the dealer. Seems my TE suffered an oil pump failure while they were prepping it to ship. They would need to contact Husky about how to proceed. Week or so goes by and he tells me that Husky has approved the repairs under warranty.
We were getting into the holiday season, so getting parts from Husqvarna proved to be taking a while. Dealer reassured me that they were doing their best, I patiently waited.
I kept in contact with the dealer over the next 2 months, progress with the bike was slow, please be patient.
Spoke with the dealer yesterday. He lays the bad news on me. Severe problems with the bike, Husqvarna wants to reposess it and consider it a loss. Dealer has been trying to find me another one, but as you all know, there aren’t any.
I did find a TE630 at a dealer on the west coast, however they are asking around $8500 for it. I am not willing to pay that for one now after so many of them sold in the $6000 - $6500 range. At that price I would rather buy a lightly used 2010 KTM 690.
On top of all of that, I in my infinite wisdom, have purchase a pile of aftermarket parts from FMF, JD, Cycra, 7602, etc... for the TE630 in anticipation of it’s arrival.
So I guess this is where all of you come in. Kind of a ‘what would you do’ situation. I am tempted to sell off all the aftermarket stuff I have and just go buy a KTM690 but I am trying to keep from doing something rash. I’m 3 months down the line of this attempted purchase and I guess my patience has worn out.
