  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc My second 165 kitted bike and it's the frankenbike...

LOL easy for you! copy, img code, and paste = no can do my friend. Heck Kelly just taught me the skill of "quoting" post on here .

Come on man you can do it...

1. go here and hit the "sign up for free" button and follow the instructions.
2. Up load you pictures there.
3. open up a picture in photobucket that you uploaded and "right click" you mouse and select "copy image URL"
4. go to the post you want to put the picture in and hit the little tree looking button (4th from right bottom line) "insert/edit image" and then right click in the box that opens up and hit "paste"

You have done it. Go get yourself a beer and revel in your accomplishments. Your family will be so impressed I would guess a shinny new TXC310R will be in your garage shortly to post pix of.

We expect to see something by the end of the day. You mission is clear, engage. :D

Kelly you really don't know me to well :D. Learning the "quote" thing was huge for me . I have an old Kodak "Easy Share" camera that I swear makes things even harder if thats possible for me to do anything other than email pics. I'll see if my son can take some pics of my bike and help me post them up. I like this part of your response:

:D

I'll see what I can do . I do appreciate you trying to help.

Got it cleaned up from last ride. So chopping at the bit to flog it some more. I want to put more miles on the Lectron carb and TBT revalved shock that feel so good. Weekend hurry up and get here!

What is your secret to keeping those white plastics looking so good?

Very little plastic showing. Mostly graphics. Go Gone type stuff to remove stains and 2 stroke spooge and simple green before washing. I like to detail bikes sometimes. If you get them clean and use armorall type stuff after they seem to reject buildup better and are EZer to clean.

Looks good Kelly! When you have some down time, send me the clutch cover, ignition cover and a sample of the blue in your graphics. Should be able to match it up in some ol good enamel (emblems) and I'll polish those covers up.

After the polish, how are you cleaning them before paint? Thinner, Acetone, Xylene, etc??? I just polished mine, but don't want to etch or ruin the polish (not that it's great)..

I never polish down inside where you want to paint your logo. Then I use lacquer thinner or acetone to clean real good in area.

Best paint to use is that old tractor restoration enamel (Valspar). I think its like $12 quart. Then use small artist brush and over couple hours put two coats on. I even use a heat gun to dry first coat faster.

Takes couple days to dry, but it is on there.

Massey Ferguson Red: Is about perfect color of Husky.

Friend of mine polished his then popped indoors and came back out with some nail varnish (swears its not his own) take minutes to dry and is still on there after months of abuse, the only preperation work was to clean the polishing compound out with a spray of brake cleaner

I have three girls in the house and can attest nail enamel works fantastic. Thanks for the offer Dart. Not sure if I will ever be able to pry myself off of it long enough to do that though :>)

kelly, i'm disappointed to see you've not cleaned the bike correctly!!.:) can you please remove the sticker glue from the swingarm and puts some guards on the frame to cover the wear marks...then upload some new photos for my inspection:D

I am a miserable failure. That sticker glue has been haunting me for months. It must go. thanks for the words of encouragement.

- I find it funny no one has mentioned the horrendous yellow grips.

Also Mr Clean magic eraser will clean white plastic really well

Have you been using girlie nail paint to paint the 'H' on the clutch case?:D.....I don't like that black insulation tape on the frame.

I do like that sticker kit, like it lots who made it?.....and the alloy wheel rims give the appearance (in my opinion) of making the bike look lighter then black rims on my 2009 bike. The gold forks set the bike off nicely and the yellow grips are fine. The sticker glue will come off with some petrol (gas) and a tooth brush very easily.

next up mod...

So my clutch is grabby, has been since I bought the bike. About a year ago I got a magura hydro clutch for deal that has been sitting here doing nothing. So, I got some cheap OEM old stock CR125 Honda clutch plates of eBay for near free and am going to install those and maybe the Hydro clutch. Hydro seems unnecessary for a 125 but the people that have them swear by the smooth action and nice feel. I have it so might as well. I'll install this after i get done with all the cosmetic stuff Spud says I must do. BTW Spud, that tape is to keep the to large KYB spring off the carb boot. Temp trail fix.

OK, had a few hours to hammer out some mods. As I said have had a hudro clutch laying around here for a long time. Pulled the clutch, the stock plates looked good as did the drive but measures slimmer then the new ones which are Vesrah CR125 Honda, fit perfect. Basket looked perfect.

So freaking EZ on this bike it is ridiculous.

Hydro on a 125, cool.

Clutch is smooth as butter and super EZ. Fun.

Looking goooooood
You may want to pop the clutch return spring off the actuator arm though as you may grab a finger full of nothing as it will pull it out of contact with the push rod
Dont know why Im even posting this as you know that any way lol
What size piston is in the master cylinder ? I got a bit more throw by useing a 10.5 but still stays lighter to pull than the cable
Definatly not needed on these tiddlers but I love mine and a mate who rode mine instantly got me to fit one on his
My problem is my hands are rather on the large size so being able to fit adjustable span/reach levers is great for me
Bet it dosnt stay clean for long Kelly lol
