  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My next bike i want to race tight woodland courses chugging second gear over root full corners allowing revs to drop to 500rpm and no need to cover the clutch. No big hit of power just smooth strong drive. Ride confidently and slowly over logs, rocks be stable have a wide ratio gearbox ,9.5ltr fuel tank and maintenace friendly.

The question is, how long will i have to wait?

When I read your request that bike just popped into my head because it lugs like a tractor- alot of people throw that phrase around...but it does... (500 rpm is pretty low these days- if it has a ADC there's no way it will get close to 500rpms and may begin to explain the "need" for Rekluses in so many bikes)... Everything these days is HP, 15000 rpm, EPA, DOT, MX- iffied to the point that most bikes don't do what you request well anymore.

so the 511 doesn't lug well enough I take it?

2011 ktm450exc would do what i want or even the 2010 te450 would okay. So perhaps i should go for an older machine than a 449. Although i want new not last years model or even the last decade as you suggest. Its funny you never thought about a new bikes just old machinery.

 I've spent weeks reading about your efforts to make the 449 into a fire breathing dragon, and now you want a tractor?

Lol.......i dont want to ride covering the clutch lever in tight wet woodland races. I race my 449, you know this....so next thing is a 53 rear sprocket the front is currenyly 13. The weather over here has been wet every time ive ridden. Apart from this getting the bike to chug in the wet is difficult especially when theres tree roots, hills. I think the efi where it run a high idle trying to get the bike to grip low in the revs is difficult. Im sure if the bike could chug better the slow speed wheqel spinning would stop and i wouldnt have to down gear the bike. What im saying is im try to compensate for theq efi and i shouldnt have to on the latest pieece of kit from husky.

Like stated above......install a Rekluse. In muddy low traction riding it is at it's best. Trust me, the Rekluse will do a better job at "clutch control" than you ever can. And, you will never ever have to pull the clutch in again...........unless the throttle sticks:eek:

I'm assuming your talking about EFM and their auto clutch?.....Has anyone had an auto clutch fitted to a 449/511

WB165, near impossible to stall / perfect woods motor.

Piloting my 449 in tight wet woodlands is okay for me, but it could be easier on a lighter bike. Ive been reading about the WB165, your Kelly?...... I've always had 2-strokes and still have my ktm 300. Theres a 2009 wr125 on fleebay a the momemt. I like the zoochi forks a friend rides the 2009 310 which has them fitted. The only problem i see is your over the pond and you'll need the barrel, plus i need a ktm 200 fatty modified. Ive not read anything about jetting/carby? Perhaps you and wallybean?...could price a complete kit including p&p and post it on this site to tempt buyers.

We do this all the time and international shipping is EZ. We could figure something out, should not be an issue if you want to do this. Pipes are already done, bolt it up. Kits are complete bolt on like stock. Power is amazing.
