• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My EJK install and impressions

I have noticed that my bike runs very smoothly and more powerfully in the morning as compared with late in the day even if temperatures are similar. I too suspect that the humidity is the key factor here. Not to confuse the issue of the ECU maps...

I just went out to run a few errands and had to start the bike cold. It felt like it was idling a bit rough and it almost died on me again while entering a street. It's feels like it is reverting back to the stock behavior again. Not good. The temps have dropped about 40* here, but no humidity here in Phoenix.

At cold start my bike is a little rough as well. I let it idle for a minute or so, then for the first few hundred meters I'm careful to apply enough torque to the traction. After that it's smooth sailing. Was you bike running erratically once it warmed up? Have you ever made modifications to the green settings in the EJK? You may want to increase the setting a tad for wintertime. Could I ask you a favor, could you write down the stock settings of your EJK?

I've not changed any of the settings. Yes, it does behave fine once it is warmed up. that's something that happened without the EJK as well. Once it's up to temp, it ride fine. How do I get the stock settings?

How do I get the stock settings?

Just press the "mode" button repeatedly and the EJK will go in rotation and light up the current green, yellow, red, blue-green, blue-yellow, blue-red settings. Do not press any other button, just the mode one.
